Books and Ladybugs

"What did you pack?"

"A couple sandwiches,cookies,fruit, pizza,and other things."

"Alright. Let's eat."

I ate 2 slices of pizza and a sandwich. They were really good.

"Wow Lucy. With that appetite I'm surprised you're not fat."

"Shut it Natsu! It's not my fault for having a bit appetite. Besides any other girl would have eaten the same thing."

".....Umm...I don't think so."

"Ohh just shut up will you!"

"Okay okay sorry!"

I got up and walked over to the cliffs edge. Everything was beautiful. Who knew this even exited. Maybe only on movies it did. But apparently not.

"So how do you know this place?"I asked while sitting back down next to him eating a cookie.

"I usually come here. Mostly when I need to relax or just clear my mind."

"Ohh. That's nice."

"What is?"

"Having a place to yourself where you can think and just space out and nobody can distract you."

"Well it's not just mine....it's yours now too!"He said smiling at me. His perfect white teeth, pink hair , and onyx eyes...they were all beautiful.

He got out some chocolate covered strawberries and some marshmallows.

"Here. I got these for you."

"Aww how sweet of you."I said blushing.

"I brought some books. Maybe we can read To kill a mockingbird."

"Sure,why not."

"Read here out loud for me will you?"

"Ohh ok.

I touch it. Its rough. I rub my finger across the wood back and forth harder and harder until a splinter cuts me. I hit the splinter back.

I can feel my eyes getting watery and my hands getting sweaty as I read.

No! I rub the wood harder and harder to try to erase the blood but it won't go away. I press my finger against the raw wood and rub faster and faster and it hurts but I don't care because I want to stop the blood but it's still there and I can't make it stop!

I feel tears streaming down my face while my voice is cracking.

No! I have to erase the blood! I have to. I have to! I HAVE TO!
I can't see or feel or hear anything except for some screaming...far...away.

At this point, Natsu is hugging me and comforting me and telling me it's all okay.

"I'm sorry.*sniff*sniff*. It's just this book gets to me so much and I just can't contain it sometimes."I say through sniffs and cries.

"It's okay. I'm here with you."

"Thank you, Natsu...Thank you."

"Why don't we read another book?"

"Okay."

"Here read me this."

"I've never read this before though."

"Neither have I. Looks like we're gonna start at the same time."

"Ok then."

The book had a cover of two people hugging with their backs facing the cover. It looked interesting. I turned the book around and read the summary. It was a love story. Two people who fell in love and ended up together...forever.

A couple minutes after I started reading, Natsu got up and started to walk around staring at the floor. I wondered what he was doing, but kept on reading. After a while he came back with a ladybug on his hand. He sat back down next to me and stared at the ladybug while it crawled all over his hand. Suddenly it spread it's wings and flew away. He watched it go away with the wind and disappear into the flower field. He turned and stared at me , scanning my face.

"What?"

"Nothing. I'm just looking at how beautiful you are."

I blushed at his comment. He grabbed my chin and turned my face around to face his. Pulling me closer he kissed me.

Woah.

I was paralyzed. I was surprised. I was shocked. But I was also happy. I was exited. My heart beat so fast it felt like it would jump out of my chest.

But I couldn't let this happen. Atleast not yet.

As I pulled away he gave me a confused look.

"What's wrong?"

"It's just that I bearly know you. I mean it was good and all but I would like to get to know you better."

"You will. I promise."

"Thanks for understanding."

"Anything for you...Luce." I blushed at the nickname he had given me. It was so cute and I liked it.

I hoped we would turn into something else.
