The paper that the doctor had just place on the table was blank. Other then my body on the scan of course. "It is miraclulous, but your cancer has literally disappeared. You are now in remission!" I squeeled quietly. Harry threw his arms around me. Tears of joy began spilling down my face. "You will need to come back every once in a while to make sure the cancer doesn't return, but as of that. You are free to go Miss Andy." "thank you! Thank you so much." I exclaimed.
I jumped up and pulled Harry out of the room with me. I let go of Harry's hand and began dancing around the empty halls. Harry grabbed my arm, stopping me, and pulled me to him. Kissing me passionately. Usually the kisses he's given me have been little pecks here and there, but this one.. Wow. He put all his happiness into it. For the first time, he even slipped his tongue into my mouth, exploring and deepening the kiss. He pulled away when we were both out of breath and grinned hugely at me. I poked one of his dimples and giggled. "Let's go tell the boys!" I was very proud of myself for not fainting because of that kiss.
Harry rolled his eyes slightly but came with me. The grin didn't falter the entire time. I began running and dancing again and I could hear Harry laughing behind me. I opened the door to my room to see that they had gone back to their room. I pulled on Harry's hand and we eagerly walked down the hall to the room where the four boys were.
I opened the door and kept a solem look on my face. "Andy! You're back! How did it go?" Multiple voices asked me at once. I remained quiet while I studied each of their worried faces. "um, guys, I have to tell you something. We can't stay at the hospital anymore."
I looked down as a smile tugged at my lips. I heard a couple of gasps. "What do you mean? They can't kick you out of the hospital." Liam exclaimed, getting angry. I looked up at him with a small smile. "Yes they can. I've been discharged or whatever they call it." Confusion filled the expressions of the four boys standing before me.
"Guys, I'm cancer free!" I exclaimed. The room filled with silence for a split second before everyone shouted. "What are we going to do to celebrate?" Zayn asked. "Well I was going to ask you before we got the good news, but this works too. Andy, would you like to accompany me and the boys to the VMAs?" Harry asked, holding my waist from behind.
"Really?" I asked excitedly. "When is it?" I asked. "Tomorrow." Harry said. My jaw dropped. "I don't have anything to wear for that type of occasion. What does someone wear to the VMAs?" I heard and felt Harry chuckle slightly. "Usually girls would wear dresses or something, but you look beautiful in anything." Harry whispered in my ear. I felt my face heat slightly.
I heard someone clap excitedly. "Looks like we're going shopping!!" Louis exclaimed excitedly. I groaned. All the boys laughed at my reaction. "Come on! Lets go now! We haven't much time!" Louis said grabbing my hand and ripping me away from Harry and into the bright hallways. I laughed at his excitement.
I heard the boys following us and talking with each other while Louis spoke excitedly to me. "I love shopping! I always go with El, my girlfriend, if you didn't know, but I'm sure you did. Her skin is beautiful with blues and stuff. Your complection will look great with red I believe." "Louis, you-" I began to talk before he cut me off. "I know, I sound gay. It's not fair though, there are straight guys out there that like to go shopping and know colours."
I giggled. "It's ok Louis, El loves you, and you are a great person." "No I'm not." He pouted. My eyebrows furrowed. What is going on? Louis is usually so confident? But then I remembered a conversation between Liam and Harry that I had accidentally overheard about Louis being depressed because of all the bad things that are said about him.
"Louis, yes you are. Don't ever say that you aren't. You are a big piece of the puzzle that saved my life. You and the other guys have become like brothers to me. I wouldn't be alive right now if I hadn't met you guys. Especially you. I don't know why, but you feel like more of a brother than the others do, don't tell them that please. I feel like I can come to you with anything and I love you for that."
Louis looked down at me through his eye lashes. "You really mean that?" He asked quietly. "Yes, and another thing. You shouldn't worry about the bad things people say because there are so many people that you help to keep breathing just by being you. You make people laugh when they feel like the only way they can go is down."
I paused as all the memories of being in that dark place flooded back to me. "There were many times that I wanted to leave this planet because of how alone I was, but because or your weirdness and your humour, I got up and laughed instead. Don't ever change Louis. And obviously you're awesome if Eleanore loves you as much as she does. I know you try to protect her from the hate, but you get it too. You all do. You just have to be there for each other and know that you are great people."
I looked at him and noticed that his eyes were glistening. "Thank you Andy." He sniffled, pulling me into a hug. I felt safe in his embrace, but it felt like I was hugging my brother, not with butterflies like when I hug Harry. Louis pulled away and grabbed my hand again, leading me in a direction of the hospital I had never been in before. "Where are we-"
Before I could finish asking where we were going, Louis opened up a door. I saw a black van parked there. Louis looked around quickly and pulled me to the van, helping me in after him. Right behind us Harry got in. All three of us sat in the back. Niall, Liam, and Zayn were in front of us, in the middle of the van.
I noticed that Paul was in the front seat. The van started moving quickly. All of a sudden a mob of girls came running at the car. I jumped when they started banging on the doors and windows. Oh my god, I'm not going to survive this. I survived cancer but I'm going to die because of this. I heard Harry chuckle slightly. "You'll be fine, I got you." He said. It wasn't until he responded that I realised that I must have spoken my thoughts out loud.
"Where to boys?" Paul asked. "And girl." He added with a smile in the rearview mirror. A smile spread across my face in response as he glanced back at me. "Shopping!" Louis yelled. Niall, in front of Louis, threw his hands up over his ears. "Oh come on Niall, you deal with screaming girls, that wasn't bad." I said. Harry laughed. "I guess you're right." Niall laughed. I smiled and looked at the silly boys that surrounded me. "Let's go find some VMA outfits!" I said. Louis erupted into chears and then we were off.
