Chapter 10

Mere POV

I was in my last period when I got thrown a crumbled up paper in my desk. I frowned as I opened it up. I frowned even more as I saw what it had:

'Look ←'

I turned my head to the side and looked at... Cameron. I sighed and crumbled the paper back up. I threw it at him and ignored him.

As soon as the bell rang, I stood up and raced to the door. A hand pulled me to the side and pinned me at the wall. I let out an 'Omph' as the air was lightly shoved out of me. Cameron.

"Would you STOP ignoring me!?" he hissed.

"Why should I!?" I hissed back. "You're the one who cheated on me!" I yelled getting attention. "You-!"

Cameron pressing his lips on mine cut me off. I squirmed around until he was pulled away.

Gale.

And he looked pissed off. As soon as Cameron faced him, he balled up his fist and gave him a good hard punch in the jaw. I let out a scream as Cameron composed himself and tackled Gale. They rolled on the floor throwing punches at each other.

I saw Riley. I ran to him. "Stop them!" I yelled shoving him forward.

"What do I get in return?" he asked.

I narrowed my eyes at him. I huffed then walked to Cameron and Gale through the gathering crowd. I kicked Cameron and Gale each on the side. "Stop it right now!" I yelled. "Both of you!"

Cameron gave Gale one last punch and stood up grunting. He had a purple eye, his hair was messed up, and his nose was bleeding.

Gale also had a purple eye, his lip was cut, he had a bruise in his left cheek, and his hair was also messed up.

I didn't know who to go to. I didn't know who to help. Clean. Fix them. Thing was, I wanted to go to both. Wanted to help both, but I couldn't. I would look bad.

Jena running to Cameron fixed my choice. I went to Gale and cupped his face to make him look down. "Why did you do that?" I whispered strocking his lip.

He turned his head away. "He f&@%ing kissed you!" he hissed.

"And it wouldn't be the first!" Cameron yelled from behind.

I pulled Gale with me. I pulled him out the front door and towards his car. I got his keys and opened it up as I got in the passenger seat. Gale waited a few seconds before also getting in. He turned the car on and started driving. "I didn't want him to" I said breaking the silence.

"But you let him"

"I didn't!" I hissed. "HE KISSED ME! What can't you not get from that!?".

Gale ignored my comment. "That's what you wanted, wasn't it?" he asked. "You have him now? Push me aside and run into his arms?" he asked.

"Gale!" I gasped.

"Should've know the type of person you were. I should've known when I decided to do this" he continued. "I was the one who would get hurt in this".

That got me mad. "It was your idea!"

"Of course it was!" he said. "I-"

"Stop the car" I hissed.

"What?"

"You heard me. Stop. The. Car" I said.

"No!"

"Do it or i'll jump out. I'm not kidding, Gale".

Gale slowed to a stop and pulled over in the side. I got off the car and slammed his door shut.

"Mere..." he started.

"Call me when you're calmer" I snapped and walked away. I walked to my job.
