Kiya's POV

"Can you hear the silence,

can you see the dark?

Can you fix the broken?

Can you feel my heart?"

My phone's alarm blared out over the room of sleeping bodies, waking us up at 9 AM. Yesterday had been a blur, preparing for what awaited us today. Everyone crashed at our place (not complaining at all) and I had somehow moved to the couch, with my face in Craig's lap. It was it an extremely awkward area of his lap... if you know what I mean. Skar was sleeping in our coat closet, Max beside her and Jacky leaning up against the open door. Everyone else was sleeping in awkward places and positions around the room, and we laughed when we saw each other. Well, accept for Andy, who was still asleep under the coffee table. I got up as quietly as possible and grabbed a bucket normally used for cleaning out the kitchen. I filled it with ice water and crept up behind Andy. He was pretty adorable when he was sleeping. I hoped he was that adorable when he was angry. I threw the bucket of water on him and darted out of the room, into my room, and locked the door. About 30 seconds later, there was furious pounding at my door.

"Open up this door right now or I swear to god Kiya I will tear you to shreds!" I heard Andy yell through the door.

"Well that's not very nice! If I open the door do you promise not to hurt me?" I asked him.

"....yes I promise," he said, sounding a little less angry.

I opened the door and he came running in, tackling me into tickles. Being an extremely ticklish person, I was basically handicapped.

"Craig! Help!" I managed to yell between laughing fits. I heard Craig come in and felt Andy being lifted off of me. After recovering, I suggested to everyone that we get ready. Our meeting with Epitaph was in two hours and this was what our lives had been leading up to it seemed. This was going to be a good day, I could feel it.

Skar's POV

Andy ran into Kiya's room, and laughter rang throughout the house. She called for Craig's help and he quickly left the room. Max left to go to the bathroom.

"They so have a thing for her," I stated as soon as Craig left.

"What do you mean?" asked Jacky, who had fallen asleep on the door to the closet I was currently in.

"Can't you read it? It's in their body language, the way they act around each other. Andy's crushing on her, and Kiya is attracted to him. Not as much as she is to Craig though. Craig is extremely attracted to Kiya and is a bit jealous that she is taking a liking to Andy. This will be an interesting love triangle. Especially knowing Kiya. I know who she'll pick in the long run, but she doesn't want to hurt anyone. It isn't in her nature." I explained. I was more observant than most people would think. Jacky seemed lost in thought about what I had said.

"Can you read all people like that?" he asked.

"Yes and no. I can read all people, but I never see it when it comes to me. If someone likes me, I have no idea, no matter how obvious it is," I replied. I thought of Cade. I never thought he would have liked me in a trillion years.

"Oh. That's...interesting. How did you learn to do that?" he asked. It was nice that someone was genuinely interested in something I did. Especially something they didn't know about, like reading people.

"I don't exactly know," I replied. Just then, Kiya walked back into the room, Craig and Andy right behind her.

"We should probably get ready, we have to be to Epitaph in two hours," she said.

~Two hours later~

We arrived at Epitaph with two minutes to spare. We grabbed our instruments and ran inside, to where all of our dreams lived. The rest of the guys waited in the main lobby, while we walked to the end of the hall and went into the room on the left. Sitting behind the controls booth of a recording studio was the man I had breakfast with two days ago.

"Skar, it's lovely to see you again. Would you be so kind to introduce me to your bandmates?" he asked in a polite tone.

"Of course, this is our singer and my cousin Kiya, this is our drummer Francisco, and our guitarist Erik," I said, pointing to each of them as I said their names.

"Wonderful. I'm James, but please call me Jimmy. Now, let's get right to it, shall we?" he said.

We set up our equipment, and we all gave each other glances of excitement. After all, this was our dream. I counted as a signal to start Money.

"1...2...1, 2, 3, 4."

I began the bass line for the millionth time and felt myself loosen up. The song progressed on, and I lost track of time. I was absorbed in the music. We finished the song and I looked at Jimmy. He was slightly awestruck. It was a good feeling. Kiya introduced Memories, and we played. We only look a short break after the song was over before playing Don't Fight Fire With Fire, and as the song came to a close, Kiya addressed Jimmy.

"That was Don't Fight Fire With Fire, and I want to say for the whole band, not just myself, thank you for this opportunity. This is our cover of Teenagers, by My Chemical Romance."

I smiled as we started. My Chem is my favorite band. They have been for a very long time. I got really into the song and had to stop myself from jumping off of the base drum again. It didn't turn out well last time I did that. We finished the song and looked at Jimmy, who had a wide smile on his face.

"Well guys, it's settled. Welcome to the Epitaph family!"
