Craig's POV
Kiya walked out holding Leila bridal style. They were so adorable together. Kiya sat down Leila and turned around, looking at me. "Is there something on my face?" she asked to no one in particular. We all laughed at that one.
After we ate, I attempted to talk to her. "So what do you plan on doing after babysitting? This surely isn't a lifetime career choice," I said.
"Actually, I want to be in the music industry. Me and my cousin have a band started. We call ourselves The Black Cross," she said.
"Oh really? What do you play?" I asked. I really hoped she actually sang. That would be awesome!
She pointed at her neck. "Vocal chords," she said with a slight smile. "My cousin plays bass. Max is actually her main inspiration. Our friends Francisco and Erik are also in the band. Francisco plays guitar and Erik is on drums," she stated with pride. I could tell she really loved her band. The passion she had for music made her even more amazing- wait what am I thinking?! She obviously doesn't like me, I had to fight her tooth and nail to stay for breakfast!
"I can get you guys in to meet Max tonight if you like. Say maybe eight? Just come back here with your cousin and we can all go to the studio. Even Leila can come," I suggested.
"You'd be willing to do that? I'm sure she would love that," she said.
"Yes of course I am! I wouldn't offer otherwise. And I'm sure Max will too, he misses his dedicated fans," I said. "So do you live alone?" I asked, suddenly wanting a change in topic.
"No I live with- oh Godsmack she's gonna kill me! I've gotta go, my cousin's probably worried sick about me with her strange overprotectiveness," she said, quickly getting up and walking out of the house without her paycheck.
Kiya's POV
I ran out to my old, beat up, tannish and slightly rusty brown truck that almost looked like a penny. I hopped in and fired the old engine to life. I personally thought it sounded like a dying whale. Oh well, the truck worked.
I pulled into the parking lot of our apartment building and walked up to our apartment. The door was unlocked and my cousin Skarrlet was sitting about two feet from the TV watching SpongeBob. She had on her favorite black coca cola sweats on, a black tank top, and her black and purple paint splatter sweatshirt with built in headphones. Her straight, midnight black hair hung loosely around her shoulders. We looked quite different from each other, even though we were related. We both had grey-blue eyes that turned a bright silver depending on our mood. I had blonde hair though with red tips. I wore slightly more makeup than her, and was about five inches shorter. I was around average height, she was just a freakin' giraffe! She was 5'10" while I was only 5'4" give or take a little. She had massive hands, which helped with bass, but wore a size 7 in women's shoes. She was super skinny, but she wasn't anorexic. She has a super high metabolism. I was once again average weight, with normal hands and small feet. She was really muscley, I wasn't. She had straight teeth, I JUST got my braces off. She had a nose ring, left earcuff, a vertical labret like the cover of Escape The Fate's first album, her right ear was pierced all the way up, and pencil gauges, not to mention the hip peircings. I had a right sided lip piercing, my tounge, my nose, both ears pierced all the way around, and 00 gauges. My bellybutton had once been pierced, but I took it out a while ago. Skarrlet had numerous tattoos up her arms, one on the base of her neck, and a portrait of her bass that starts by her left ankle and ends at her knee. I also have numerous tattoos on my back, arms, wrists, and ankles. Me and Skar have matching tattoos on our necks of our band's logo. But we both had so much in common with our lives that we pretty much had to be friends.
