Chapter 8

I never left his side. As they stitched and cleaned him he didn't wake. I felt my heart beating fast in my chest. They hooked him up to a machine putting something in his veins. The nurse looked at me with pity. As she walked away the female guard came up. "I'm captain melody of princes army. You?" She asked sitting down. "Andy cattail." I said looking at her. Her eyes looked at me as if I was a enemy. "I know your worried about Wolfe but you need to sleep and eat." She said. I've never left his side for two days. I felt weak and zombie like. "I'm fine.-" I started but me,dog cut me off. "I won't take no for a answer cattail now come on. Hell be fine as long as nurse Joy is watching him." She said standing up. I looked at the nurse. Pinkish red hair curled and blue eyes. "Ok." I said looking down. I slowly got up feeling the lack of food kick in.

I ate about as much as a army could. "Now go get some rest." Melody ordered. "Ok." I aid and wandered off to Gage's tent. "They must be hiding here." I heard him say. "We will send scouts and a back up group for them incase they run into trouble." A man said looking about 30. "Ok scar. I want you to take melody and some expert scouts with you." Gage said. Scar nodded a d turned showing me his other half if his face. A scar went down his eye brow and on his cheek and eye lid. "You Andy?" He asked me. I nodded and gave him room to pass. He smiled a bit. "The prince needs someone like you in his life. I'm actually glad you went in for your mother." He said smiling and walked out. "Andy you looked tired." Gage said sitting down on his cote. "Very." I yawned and laid on the cot. "Rest ill wake you if he wakes up." He said and walked out.

I woke up to some walking in. "Sorry to wake you." Gage said and turned to face scar, melody and someone else. "What do you mean all the experts are injured!" Gage said scratching his head. "They can't seek around properly with injures and wounds. There's only three that aren't. And that's us." Melody said. "Then find some people who are light on their feet." Gage said. "I can." I said. I am able to sneak around pretty well without anyone knowing. "Andy you know prince would kill me if I let you-". Some one cut off gage. "Let her go. I know she is light on her feet and sneaking abilities." That voice it sounds filmier. As he moved from behind scar it hit me. Ari. "I don't know." Gage said rubbing his neck and pacing slowly. "Gage I will make sure no one even touches her." Melody said smiling.

"Fine but do not tell the prince. He will kill me." I got up and walked over to Melody's side. She smiled and elbowed me gently. "It'll be fun with another girl. Ari has told me all the trouble you get your self into. You would make a amazing solider." She said. Ari looked at me with a smile. Da fuq? "Lets get you suited up!" Melody said and dragged me to another tent. "What are you best at. Weapon wise?" She asked looked at a bow and arrow. "I thought I was a scout?" I asked looking at some daggers and ninja stars. "You need to protect your self. Duh!" She said slinging the bow around her shoulder and a quiver full of razor sharp arrows. They glinted purple goop on the tips. "I guess I'm good at arrows. I can shoot well if you count shooting guards." I said to her. She laughed. "Ha ari told me all the times you did that to him." She said stilling softly laughing. Her long wavy hair braided in a war braid her band have a red feather in it.

"Ok kiddo try this one." She said handing me a black bow and quiver. "Shoot that target." She said pointing to a red target at the end of the tent. I pulled out an arrow and placed it on the bow quickly and pulled the string back. I took a deep breath and let go hearing the arrow fly through the wind. "Wow!" Melody said walking up to the target. I looked to see where it hit. Bulls eye. "Again." She said. I reloaded and quickly shot. I heard something crack. "Holy crap!" Melody said smiling. The second arrow spilt the other in two making a bulls eye. "Now this is my technique. Shoot three at once." She pulled the other two out. I pulled three out and positioned them. I aimed and fired. "Almost as good as me." She said. One bulls eyes the other two touching the tip of the middle arrow. "I want to see you try!" I said slinging the bow over my arm.

"Very well then." She said and walked over. The target is about 20-25 ft away. She pulled five arrows out of her quiver. "Watch and learn." She fired. All the arrows hit the bulls eye. "Show off." I joked. She smiled cockily. "Ready to head out?" Scar asking peaking in. "No she needs to suit up give me five." He pulled his head out. "Take off your clothes except that tank top." She said. I took off my pants and shirt. Leaving me in my girl boxers and tank top. Melody out a chain shirt over me and armor. She put armor pants on and slid my quiver and bow on me. Plus some ninja stars in my boot. She braided my hair in a war braid. Fish bone basically. "Come on." She said pulling me out side. "How old are you?" I asked her. "17." She answered like its nothing. So young yet so powerful. "Wow. Your only a year older than me." I said. "So your sixteen. Cool." She said. We walked to our horses.

"Follow me. This me stop." She held up a fist. "Got it." Everyone said. We hoped on our horses and rode out. I saw gage wave as we left. We entered the woods and passed a bloody clearing. Scar lead us to a cave with a deep dark entrance. Melody heard up a fist. We were on top of a hill covered in trees. We tied the horses to trees and sneaked up on the cave. Melody pointed to five people and told them to wait with the horses and come if we need help. They nodded and ran off. We snuck into the dark cave. My eyes adjusted and saw that there was three path ways down. Melody split us up into three groups of 4 and headed down. I was paired up with scar and ari and some boy with green eyes and brown hair.

Scar stopped us. We split up again. I went down with ari and scar went down with the boy. Ari went first and we saw light. Fire. A torch was on the wall. More as we went down and more narrow the walls became. Ari was getting to the point where his armor was close to the walls. We heard banging and hissing. We moved down more and more until they became clear. "....fine then. We shall attack tomorrow morning. For revenge for my sister!" Alice hissed. Oh fuck. We went back up quickly. I heard a cling and looked back. Ari was catch on a torch. "Help!" He mouthed. I took out a ninja star and cut him loose. "What was that?" I heard someone hiss. "You go look." Someone growled. We heard footsteps coming up. We moved faster and faster and ran out. We bumped into scar and the boy. We ran to the three path way. "I'll get them you go." Scar whispered before disappearing into the black tunnel.
