Forever Together || Part 2

34 ~ Clingy

I am patiently waiting for Riley to be done with the surgery to get the baby out. I have been balling my eyes out, the pain just can't go away.

I can't sleep. The doctors told me to go home, because Riley needed to sleep. I didn't go. After non stop arguing with them, I finally got to spend the night in Riley's room.

I just can't sleep. I want to hold Riley's hand... But I'm not allowed to. They said no physical contact, she needs rest. Or else she can't go to work tomorrow, and she is still going to seem like she is high. Man they must have drugged her up real good.

I scooted the chair closer to her bed and rested my head and arms at Riley's side. I closed my eyes, finally being able to feel a little bit of Riley's warmth. I opened my eyes again and glanced at her stomach.

I closed my eyes again and squinted out a tear.

There is no more baby bump.

I drove Riley home, her boss's assistant said that she can stay home but she has to do paper work.

I don't understand why Riley has to do paper work or computer work. She stays up till like midnight, trying to finish her work.

I'm teaching P.E right now, last period.

" Alright class, today we are running 2 miles on the track. " I yelled out.

They all groaned.

"HEY! I thought you were all seniors."

They still groaned and complained.

" Alright! Fine, to make it fair. I will run with you guys. "

They all smiled and started to yell out stuff like:

YEAH

I WANNA SEE THIS

OMG TAKE OFF YOUR SHIRT!

....
Yeah, some of those seniors are girls and don't know that I have Riley, and they probably don't know the law about dating teachers are illegal.

" ALRIGHT LETS GO!" I yelled out.

I picked up my feet and ran. There was a large gap between my students and me. I guess I'm just a lot faster.

I pump my legs to go faster.

Finally, I finished.

" 11:24 " Mary yelled out.

I reached for my knees and breathed, trying to get my breath steady.

" That's not so bad." I said.

I stood up straight and I realized that half of my students still have another mile to go.

" Wow. " I sigh to myself. " Hey, watch them please. I need to make an important call."

She nodded her head and smiled. I smiled back and walked over to my bag. I grabbed out my phone and called Riley.

" Hi baby." I said when she picked up.

" Hey..." She said.

I heard typing in the background.

" Are you still working?" I asked.

" Yeah." She sighed. " I have to go honey. I'll see you when you get home."

" Ok, bye-"

She ended the call. That's really weird. She has never done that before. I placed my phone in my bag and heard Mary call out something again.

" 12:54!" She yelled.

" Nice job Williams."

I patted his back.

" Thanks teach." He painted.

" Why don't you get some water and change. Your done." I smiled.

He nodded his head and walked to the boys locker rooms.

I walked into our room, Riley sitting at her desk, writing.

" I'm home honey." I softly said.

She turned around and smiled.

I went over to her and sat at the edge of her seat and wrapped my arms around her. I rested my head on her shoulder.

" Lucas." She whined.

" I wanna cuddle." I said.

" Can we do that later?! I'm trying to work."

" But I want to cuddle now!" I whined.

She pushed her chair back, getting frustrated.

" ALRIGHT! LUCAS! I LOVE YOU, BUT I NEED TO DO MY WORK! AND I CANT DO THAT IF YOUR HANGING AROUND ME LIKE A MONKEY AND BEING SO CLINGY!" She yelled.

It broke my heart to hear her yell at me like that.

She grabbed her papers and stormed out of the room.

I was left, speechless. Am I really that clingy? Was she just frustrated with me? Is she just sad about our baby's death? Maybe I should go apologize.

I sighed and walked out of my room. I spotted her, sitting at the dining room table and doing work. I softly put my hand on her shoulder and gave her a little rub.

" Lucas." She sighed.

" I know. I'm sorry, for being clingy. " I mumbled.

She placed her hand on top of my hand and gave me a little smile.

" No, I'm sorry for snapping at you. And we are both clingy, but sometimes at the wrong times." She gave me a small smile.

I gave her a smile back.

" How much work left?" I asked.

" Two more papers." She sighed.

" Okay. Well it's 4:50 now. And so if you finish work by 8 then we can cuddle or watch a movie together." I suggested.

She gave me a big smile.

" I'd love that."

I gave her a smile back and kissed the top of her head.

So I have been posting like daily now. And that is because I have like 5 chapters, ready to publish and stuff. But I want to hold it off. One everyday.
