" Tonight, you have 45 pages to read out of the textbook."
" 120 problems for math. "
" Study for your test that is tommarow."
" Get started on your project that is due in four days."
" Not that much homework kids. You only have to read 5 pages in your textbook."
" Yeah. But if you add up all of the other homework we have. It will take like 14 hours." I mumbled to myself.
I twirled my pencil around in my hand from boredom. So much homework. I guess I can't hang out with Lucas.
The bell rung. School is over. Finally! It's Friday. I gather up all my notebooks and books and my one pencil and one highlighter. I walk over to my locker and drop everything off. When I closed my locker, Lucas was there. I smiled at him.
" Soooo."
He grabbed my hand and swung it back and forth.
" Soooo?" I asked.
We started walking out of the school.
" I can't wait for your dance recital!"
I giggled.
" It's a duo, Lucas. With another guy."
He tilted his head.
" I'm dancing with another guy."
" What?" He snapped his head at me.
" It's just a dance."
He nodded his head, slowly. We continued walking to the recital.
When we got there, I had to get dressed. I ran backstage as he got a seat in the front row. I changed into a black laced dress.
" Hi! Riley.."
I turned my head around. It was my dance partner.
" Hey there Andrew!"
He smiled at me. I smiled back.
" And on next, is Riley and Andrew with their duo to the song Apologize. Riley Matthews choreographed this piece. "
Everyone started to clap and cheer.
" Ready?" I asked him.
" Ready."
We walked out on stage and went to our positions. I took a deep breath and then exhaled.
The music started playing.
