Ch. 8

"Rella, wake up first day of school." I groaned ugh I hate school. I lifted my self off the bed and I sat up. I looked around and noticed my dad left the room already. "Hurry up you only have a half and hour to get ready." I heard him yell from downstairs. I huffed and got up, I began to look in my suitcase and found a cute outfit. My jeans were from AmericanEagle and I had a striped shirt from the same place. I piared the outfit with my white converses and I grabbed my backpack. I put my makeup on which consisted of some foundation, power, blush and some mascara. I stuck with a light pink tinted lipstick. I brushed my hair out, my hair was naturally straight so it looked like I straightened it. I looked in my bathroom mirror and looked at my reflection. I breathed in and out I need to make some friends and just be myself. I felt scared I always put this calm front in but in reality I was not. I went back to my room and looked through my suitcase to find my toothbrush and my tooth paste. I went back tooutside, bathroom and began to brush my teeth. Afterwards my mouth felt clean and fresh especially since I have braces on and it felt good to brush. I looked at my phone and knew I had to get to school soon. I walked downstairs and I found my dad reading the newspaper. "Come on dad or I will be late." I said I noticed he still had on his pajamas. "Honey I'm not taking you, Gloria is." Oh wow this just keeps getting better and better. I mean do we have to rely on her for just about everything? I mean Gloria's doing this, that, everything. I really did appreciate everything she's doing to help us settle in but that only means more time with Jovani. I didn't mind Julian because he actaully seemed to like me. Unlike Jovani who was always in a pissy mood when I was around. I heard a honk outside that's probably them. "Bye dad," I said I walked toward him and gave him a hug. "Have a good day sweetheart and remember to be nice to everyone." I mean when am I mean to people for no reason anyways? "Okay, I will but I better go I love you." I said pulling the door open and I heard my dad say, "I love you," back. I walked outside to see them waiting for me. Julian looks happy but next to him Jovani looks upset and angry. I walked up to the door and opened it. "Hey Arella," Julian says scooting over and smiling at me. "Hey Julian and thanks Gloria for taking me to school." I smile at both Julian and Gloria. "Your welcome sweetie." I look past Julian and see Jovani. He's on his phone and he is smiling.

That's a good sign right?

We slowly pull up to the school front. Students are slowly entering the building and I began to feel nervous about who I'm gonna hang out with. "Julian, Jovani," both of them look at there mom. "You guys need to keep an eye out for Arella she will sit with you guys at lunch and if I hear that your rude to her you guys won't broadcast tonight. Do you guys understand me?"

Great now they have to babysit me, not that I'm not grateful but I feel like a baby.

"Yes mom, both of the boys say.
We get out of the car. And I can already see the weird looks I'm getting. Most of the girls are looking at Julian and Jovani. I start to feel jealous, I really have no reason to but some of them are looking at Jovani. I know I shouldn't feel this way but I can't help it. I like Jovani he's so cute and especially when he talks and he stutters a bit. Ugh, I hate feeling this way because there is not a chance Jovani will like me after this.
We begin to enter the building, students scattered among the entrance and down the halls. I notice that we are walking towards an office there are a few ladies sitting and laughing about something. "Um, we have a new student and we need her schedule, please." Jovani says, I haven't really heard him talk since that time he asked me out. Well, beside the time in the car but this is different. "What's your name dear?" I look over at the woman sitting behind the computer. "Uh, Arella," I reply oddly enough I sound quite unsure if myself. "Ah, I found you," the lady gets up from her desk and moves to the printer in the corner. "These lovely boys can show you around to your classrooms," she hands me a piece of warm paper. I look down and see my name, locker number and all my classes. I frown, do I not get to pick at least? Or maybe get the classes I had from my old school?

Art great are you kidding me and an extra P.E. class. F uck my life oh this is just getting better and better. I swear, of course they just had to pick my least favorite electives.

We begin to walk away from the office and into the halls which have a large amount of students roaming around.

"Hey Jovani!" We all look over and I see a pretty girl, standing a few feet away from us. "Uh, hey Nicole." I can tell Jovani doesn't want to talk to her at all. "So did you ever think about going out with me this week?" The girl says, is it me or is her voice annoying as f uck?

Probably only me, hmm.

"Well you see I actually have plans." Oh does he now? "Yeah my friend here Arella was actually gonna go to the movies. And she's new and I thought I would show her the town a bit." I can hear the some what sincerity in his voice, man he can act.

"With what car Jovani? Julian starts to laugh, his face scrunches up a bit, awh its so cute. Oh my what the hell am I doing?

"Okay that was one time Julian I'm sorry I didn't pass my driving test like you did." I start to laugh its so cute when they get mad at each other. "

"Hey guys!"

Oh great another fan girl to add into the mix.

We all turn to another pretty girl except this one is darker, Mexican?

"Hey babe."

What?

Julian steps towards the mystery girl, girlfriend? I didn't know he had one but then again I don't know much about them. They each take a step back and the girl smiles at Jovani then she turns to me. Her smile drops a bit but she regains composure and sticks out her hand. "Hello my name is Mercede but people call me merc." I smile back not wanting any drama.
I notice her looking at Julian, confused probably to who I am. "Well my name is Arella but only my friends call me Rella." I smile at merc she frowns a bit clearly not use to getting talked to like this.

"Haha, yeah well me and merc better get going, Jovani you can show Arella around. Julian walks off with merc and I turn around to see Jovani uncomfortably standing next to that one girl.
"Come on Jovani," I smile at the girl standing next to him. "Toodles," I smile and I gesture for her to leave with my hand. "Man guess little Jovani has some fan girls, huh? I laugh a little and look at Jovani. "You could say that," he starts to laugh but slowly stops. As we walk through the halls I notice the weird looks I'm getting.

"I'm sorry Jovani." I turn and look at him, he turns to look at me confused. "
