I walked into Charms with a smile on my face. It was the second class I shared with Gryffindors. Which meant not only would Lily be in there, but so would James and his friends. I caught sight of Lily sitting in one of the front rows. I sat down next to her and she gave me a smile.
"Hey, Del," She turned towards me. "At least this time there's a good chance we won't have to be moved. I nodded my head.
"Yeah." We started up a small conversation about the rest of our classes. It only came to a pause when loud boys sat down behind us. Lily let out a loud sigh and rolled her eyes. I turned to see the four well-known Gryffindor sitting behind us. I smiled at James, but he was looking at Lily.
"Nice to see you too, Lily-pad," he teased her. Lily turned around to glare at him.
"Really? Out of all the places you could have sat?" Lily gestured to the many empty seats around. Sirius raised a finger and smirked at her.
"Sorry, Lily, but there is no place with four empty seats in a row," Sirius pointed out.
"That just means you guys need to separate. You're too attached to each other anyways," Lily told them putting putting a fake smile on her face. I stayed pretty silent before Peter tapped on my shoulder to wave to me.
"Hi, Peter," I smiled and waved back. Remus noticed me sitting there as well and put down his book. "Hi, Remus."
"Hello, Del. How has your day been so far?" He said politely.
"It's been lovely, thank you. How has yours been?"
"Lovely, as well. Thanks for asking. Hope James hasn't been bothering you too much." I giggled and shook my head.
"No, it's been nice having someone new to talk to." He smiled, looking a bit relieved. My eyes flickered between the boys. Remus may not have been the oldest of the group, but he definitely looked after the rest of the boys.
"You have pretty hair," Peter comments out of no where. He immediately blushed and coughed. Remus looked at his friend with an amused expression. He stared at him for a second before he actually burst out laughing at Peter's embarrassment. I was shocked, because I've never really seen Remus like that before. I started laughing along though. Peter eventually gets over his embarrassment and laughed as well.
"Thank you, Peter." He nodded. He still looked a bit red. Remus grabbed a few of my tight curls, much to my surprise.
"It really is. No one else around here have curls this wild." His eyes flickered to mine before he blushed. "I mean it in a good way." He dropped my hair and looked shy. I laughed a nodded.
"Thanks, but it's a bit of a curse." He frowned.
"Is it?" I nodded and laughed.
"Not that any of you boys would know. You guys wouldn't have to touch your hair after getting out of bed, and it could still look good."
"It'd look the same no matter what I'd do anyways," he replied. "But you're not wrong. You see James' hair? I swear it looked exactly like that when he woke up." James perked up and turned toward us three.
"I heard my name!" He leaned over to get a better view of us past Sirius. "Hey, Del!" I waved back. Sirius looked at me with a strange look again.
"Where the hell did you come from?" Sirius looked astonished by my presence. Remus nudged him in the ribs which made him cringe, but he didn't remove his gaze from me. "I swear you keep popping up out of no where. Who even are you? Why is a Hufflepuff around Gryffindors so much all of a sudden?" The rest of the boys and Lily looked appalled at what Sirius' said. I stared at him with wide eyes.
