I sat across from Remus at a table in the library. We both had multiple books by our side and a quill in our hands. It was starting to get late, but it was quite calming to be sitting across from Remus. He had on overall calming aura. Remus' hazel-colored eyes read across the pages in front of him. I could tell he read fast because his eyes moved quickly across the page and he was constantly turning them. He could barely put his hands down.
"Remus?" He jumped in surprise of hearing me talk. His light brown hair was falling into his face. His hazel eyes flickered up to mine.
"Yeah?" He closed his book.
"Have you ever asked anybody out?" He blushed and moved his hair out of his eyes.
"I already told you, no," he said with an awkward smile. I smiled back and chuckled a bit.
"I don't believe you." He rolled his eyes.
"Well, I asked this girl out when I was maybe 9, but that doesn't count." He smiled sweetly and laughed. I laughed with him.
"That's cute." He was still pretty red. He opened his book back up and shook his head. "Was she cute."
"She was from America, and I liked her accent," Remus said. "She was obsessed with The Beatles, a muggle band, so I started listening to them just for her." I raised my eyebrows in surprise.
"I love The Beatles," I said a bit too loudly. Many people shushed me. I blushed and slapped my hand over my mouth at the slip. Remus raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"Really? Didn't think anybody around here would've heard of them." I nodded and tucked some hair behind my ear.
"No, I've definitely heard of them. A bit interested in Muggle Studies, you see," I said, trying to cover my mistake.
"That's nice. I only ever listened to a few songs just so I could sing to her." My jaw dropped. Remus' had a look of regret after saying that.
"Merlin, you sang?!" I squealed silently. His head fell into his hand and he sighed.
"Probably shouldn't have said that."
"That's adorable!"
"There forever goes my dignity..."
"Can you actually sing?" Remus had a pleading look on his face.
"No-"
"You can, can't you?"
"No, I-"
"Can you sing to me?" Remus turned redder and quickly shook his head.
"No, never. You cannot tell the boys that I ever sang."
"Why not?"
"They'll never let it go." He ran a hand through his hair.
"You're such a pretty-boy, Remus. You're practically irresistible if you sang to girls." He gave me a deadpan look. "Or boys."
"Del--no." He laughed a bit.
"I'm sure you've had crushes now and then. You boys and you're stupid rule, you could've had plenty of girlfriends."
"I didn't--don't want 'plenty of girlfriends.'"
"Oh, of course. You're such a nice guy, so you'd only have a single long one."
"Is there something wrong with that?" Remus blushed and looked down at his book.
"Nope, I think it's good. And adorable," I added the last part a few seconds later. He glared at me playfully.
