Cassie's POV
"Wake up! We are gonna be late! It's already 11!" Morgan says and I open my eyes to see all the windows open and it's still dark outside.
"No it's not. Go away. Let me sleep." I say covering my head with my blanket.
"No. You need to get up." She says grabbing my good ankle and dragging me out of bed. Literally.
"Its only six!" I yell putting my phone down after checking the time.
"Yea. But the rodeo starts at 10." She says and stops pulling me.
"That's in 4 hours! Let me sleep!" I yell crawling back onto my bed and pulling my blankets completely over me.
"Please? I can't sleep." She says sitting on my bed.
"No. Stop thinking about Dustin and go to sleep." I say kicking her off my bed and trying to go back to sleep.
"How did you know I was thinking about him?" She asks sitting back on my bed.
"Because I know you." I say closing my eyes.
"Please stay up with me!" She yells shaking me.
"Whatever!" I say sitting up and throw a pillow at her. I get up and go to the bathroom and take a shower.
Might as well get ready and go eat. I get out of the shower go out and grab my suitcase.
"You wanna shower, or can I go back in there?" I ask looking at Morgan.
"It's all yours." She says and helps me grab my suitcase and bring it to the bathroom.
She leaves, closing the door behind her. I get dressed into dark distressed skinny jeans, a blue and white flannel, my belt that has my dad's bull riding buckle on it, and my worn out old boot. It helps with packing when you only have to pack the left of each pair of shoes, saves space.
I jump up, sitting on the counter. I blow dry and curl my blonde hair into loose curls and do my minimal makeup. Which consists of powder, mascara, and minimal eyeliner. I sigh at myself in the mirror. I grab my crutches carefully jumping down off of the bathroom counter and walking out of the bathroom entirely.
"Do you have a belt? My buckle fell off and I lost the screwy thingy." She says trying to look for it in her suitcase.
"Yea. In my suitcase. I left it in the bathroom." I say grabbing my phone, sitting down on my bed. "Hurry up or I'm gonna go get food without you!" I yell as she closes the bathroom door.
"Go! Go get food without me! I dare you." She says behind the door.
"OK." I laugh grabbing my phone, backpack with my money and stuff I need and start heading to the door.
"How are you gonna get there? You can't drive." Morgan yells from the bathroom still.
"I'm gonna walk!" I say opening the door.
"No! Wait for me!" She yells trying to hurry up.
"You dared me. Take your shower. I'm getting food." I say walking out the door.
I sigh and make my way down the streets of Austin, Texas, to go find food at 7 o'clock in the morning. Alone. With a broken leg.
