Claire and Barry didn't get together, and as you can imagine Claire was devastated.

"I just don't understand what I did wrong." she sobbed into my side as I rubbed her back and stroked her hair soothingly. I shot a 'help me' look at Owen who stood in the doorway of her living room looking out of place.

Claire had text me asking me to come over right away the next morning and asking if I could bring some pancakes which she devoured the second we got here. Much to Owen's distaste seems as we had the morning off after the party and we had spent it rushing around getting to Claire's place at 8am instead of lying in bed together.

"Why don't you just tell me what happened, maybe I can help?" I asked. Claire sat up from where she was curled up against my side, sobbing against my hoodie that was actually Owen's. Claire looked so young and vulnerable wearing no make-up with her messy bed hair wearing a pastel pink onesie.

Claire explained how she had gone to speak to Vivian about something and to get a drink and she came back to see Barry chatting up another girl. Claire waited for him to notice she was there and confronted him and he got defensive about her being a clingy girlfriend when they weren't together. They ended up having a stupid fight in which Claire burst out about how much she liked him and Barry just looked confused and walked away.

"Oh Claire." I sighed, feeling so sorry for her. She was so unlucky in love.

"I was thinking... Maybe Owen could talk to him? You know, like man to man?" she sniffled hopefully, no doubt trying to guilt trip Owen into it. Owen looked as if he was about to protest but I quickly interrupted.

"Of course he will, won't you babe?" I smiled at him and widening my eyes to tell him not to reject her.

"Um... Sure, I'd love to." he said through gritted teeth and Claire smiled at him.

"Well it's the least he can do for nearly breaking your nephews nose." I added with a smirk.

"Wait... what?!" Claire said, looking extremely confused but also quite amused by this.

"Zach made a pass on Rosie, and nobody touches my girlfriend. I was quite justified." Owen said firmly, looking a little embarrassed. Claire's lower lip trembled and she suddenly burst into tears again, falling into my side.

"Oh Claire, what is it?" I asked, concerned.

"I wish someone would do that for me! I'm going to live alone forever with 50 cats. 50 dinosaurs maybe." she cried, probably soaking the jacket by now. I wrapped my arms around her and patted her back again, biting my lip. I glanced at Owen and glared at him for saying that.

"Hey! What did I do?" he protested, throwing his arms in the air. I rolled my eyes and carried on comforting Claire.

A few hours later we were back at work and I was giving Barry the cold shoulder.

"Jesus, why are all these women turning on me?" he wondered out loud, causing Owen to laugh.

"Beats me dude." he said, focusing on Blue and Delta.

"Women." he sighed.

"I know. Can't live with them, can't live without them." Owen said seriously. I looked up from my clipboard and raised an eyebrow at him.

"I was joking baby!" he laughed but I saw him nudge Barry and wink.

"Maybe if you weren't an ass to my best friend I wouldn't have to turn on you." I admitted, not taking my eyes off my work. Barry looked at Owen for support but he shrugged.

"She has a point bro." Owen told him. Barry sighed in defeat, "Look man, why don't we get some food tonight and talk? Guys night?" Owen suggested and Barry looked reluctant. I guess he didn't want to come out and admit his feelings.
