How Captain Canary came to be

Chapter 7

When Len made his way towards Rip, Rip was starting to make another one of his strategies to take down Vandal Savage. But Len was barely listening. He was still lost in thought about his feelings towards Sara. Soon enough, 10 minutes later, Sara made her way to the place where the whole team was standing.
She stood far away from Len and Len stood far away from Sara. They both glanced at each other for a second and then averted their eyes from each other. Len started paying his attention to Rip now.
"....Ok so, we go back to the place where Savage has first taken control. Kendra, it will be your duty to finish him off and the rest of the team will distract Savage's men. Oh and Snart, Sara, both of you will stay in the Waverider just in case someone tries to come and take control of the ship", Rip said.
Sara and Len's eyes widened. They were both going to be on the ship together...alone.
"Is that alright", Rip asked.
Sara desperately wanted to say no, but she ended up saying "Ya that's fine"
"Ok, then we will be leaving in half and hour. Get ready", Rip said.

Sara immediately went to her room and started applying some cream to her arms which were a little sore from before.
She didn't hear footsteps coming in, until Len said, "Let me help you with that".
She turned back faced him and said, "No it's ok, I got it".
Len stood there for a moment thinking, and made his way closer to her.
"Does it hurt", he asked.
"A little bit, but I'm okay, I swear. I can handle it", Sara replied.
"Let me help you, please"
Sara just nodded and handed him the cream. He started applying it to her hands and arms gently. A couple minutes passed and Sara said "That should be enough"
"Ok. Sara wait, we need to talk", Len said.
"Talk about what", Sara asked.
"About what happened before, Sara please..I can't stop think-"
Len was cut off when Rip and the team were in danger. He didn't even recall them leaving.
"We need to go!!", Sara said. And with she ran outside with Len just at her heels.
"Sara, Snart. Something went wrong and we need you. Sara, I need you to fly the ship over here", Rip ordered.
"Wait, what. Rip I can't fly this thing", Sara said.
"Sara you can do it. This is it. We need to end Savage today. You can do it", Rip said as he cut the call.
"Oh my god, wait Rip", Sara said
Sara turned to face Len with a scared expression on her face.

"You can do it Sara. I believe in you. The team needs our help", Len said.

"Yeah, we might die out there today. This is the final fight", Sara said.

"I know, and because of that I need to tell you something important, something that I have been trying to avoid for a long time. Sara I...", Len said.
"Don't. I know what you're gonna say, Len. I feel the same way", Sara said.
And with that Len smiled. God he wanted to kiss her right there when she admitted her feelings to him, but he knew he couldn't. They were running out of time, the rest of their team needed their help.
This was it. If they made it out alive after today, he would tell Sara how he really felt about her. And if they died, then it would still be okay. And least he would die with her, and die in peace because now he knew how Sara felt about him.

Sara smiled back at him and said "Better buckle up".
She sat in the captain's seat, started the engine and began flying towards the destination where the rest of the team was.
It was time to end Savage once and for all.
