Chapter 59:

"Sammy?"

I plastered a fake smile onto my face and stood up to hug him. We had only encountered each other a few times, but that had been enough to make me dislike him.

Oh, you want to know why? He hit on me.

We met halfway and he embraced me. I hugged him back, but squirmed a little when I realised he was hugging me a little too long and a little too tight. "How have you been?" He asked me. "Good, what about you?" I answered. We made small talk for a little while longer, but before I could say anything else, he sat down at our table. I sighed in annoyance. I had no intention on chatting with him any longer than I had to.

He completely ignored me while chatting up Aubrey, and then Madison once she returned to the table with our Pizza and drinks. They laughed and chatted, while I sat there eating on my own. They were just leaving me out. I didn't blame them. They probably didn't even notice. It was fine. I was used to it.

After eating, we cleaned everything up and continued tow all around. With Sammy still tagging along. While Madison and Aubrey quickly ran into the next store, I was left alone with Sammy which I didn't like at all.

"Hey, Janelle. I know we didn't get off on the best start, but I really want to start fresh." I nodded. Even though in my head I knew that he didn't mean it seriously. But maybe he did?

"Sure." We hugged awkwardly, and that was it. We talked normally of the rest of the day and had a blast with Madison and Aubrey. We were finally done at the mall when it was 7pm, and I said goodbye to everyone before heading home in an Uber.

"Fuck." I muttered, when I realised what time it was. Johnson was going to be so pissed at me.
