Lost Hearts.

Shes such a fool.

Demi hugged her knees to her chest as she sat on the top of the roof at her house. She watched the stars glimmer in the sky and she started to envy them. They were always so close to the one they loved and they were never separated. They would die together and they were so..in love. Demi took in a deep breath as she felt her phone vibrate In her sweatpants. She pulled it out and looked at Joes caller ID, she clicked answer and began to talk to him.

"Hey Joe." she greeted him. Since Nick had left Joe would update her on how he is, things like his health and his conditions. joe would never tell her about Nick having another girlfriend or being happy or anything like that because he knew its upset her. They talked for a while about weather and food and small talk, before they just decided to get it all over with.

"Nicks good." Joe said quickly, Demi smiled at the thought of Nick being happy.

"Great. anything happening over there?" she asked, hinting wether Nick was into any other girls or anything, but Joe didn't pick up on it.

"Not really. its pretty boring." Joe described simply. Demi rolled her eyes and decided to jump right into the pool.

"Has he seen any other girls? is he into anyone else? we haven't talked and I'm really worried I-" Demi was interrupted quickly by Joe.

"He's fine. Nope not that I know of" he answered the question indirectly, and Demi decided to drop the subject. she missed Nick like hell and nothing was making it better. The two hung up and Demi decided to go back into her room.

-Nick-

Nick kissed Vanessa hard as he moved his hand up her top. They had been dating for a while and she was honestly his distraction from Demi. He pretended he forgot her but his memory of her was more then clear. He remembered her beautiful smile, her dark lust filled eyes, her pearly whites that glistened in the eyes.. he remembered it more then he'd actually liked too. As Vanessa's top fell to the ground Nick felt his heart bang hard in his chest at the thought of Demi. He pulled away from the kiss and held his chest in pain.

"Nick! are you okay?" Vanessa asked, worried. She was in her bra and booty shorts...usually this would turn Nick on, but lately, all his heart would accept was Demi. Which was exactly what he didn't have.

"I'm fine. put your clothes on. We're going out." He pushed himself up and went to the bathroom, furious with the way his body was acting.

Nick parked the car and stepped out, not bothering to open the door for Vanessa. His mind was filled with thoughts of Demi..he had to demolish them right away. He walked into the pub and practically spirited to the counter. he ordered some drinks and chugged them down. After a few drinks, he finally felt his mind start to relax. With a sigh of relief, he slammed his head onto the table, deciding he wanted to rest for a while.

"Why are you doing this?" he heard the familiar voice of Vanessa and as he looked up, it was the first time he had actually acknowledged her being there. Her head was spinning round and she had multiple arms. Nick was more then drunk.

"She....she does this to me." Nick chuckled slightly as he chugged down another two glasses. His heart was speaking as the drinks had battled his mind until it had shut up. Vanessa squinted her eyes in confusion.

"Who?" she asked, Nick shacked his head and continued, as if she hadn't said anything at all.

"She's in Washington...she does this to me." Nick slammed the glass onto the table attracting people in the bar. Vanessa felt tears overtake her eyes. She knew Nick&Her were too good to be true. Why would he choose her? She let the tears fall down as she kept continuing to help him.

'Who's still in Washington Nick?" She rubbed his arm but Nick pulled away.

"Her! the love of my lifeeeee" his words slurred, his eyes widened and he stretched his arms to show Vanessa how much he loved her. "I love her thissss much" Vanessa's heart shattered a she began to produce theories about who he could be talking about. Her face froze.

"Demi?" Nick laughed and nodded. He pointed at Vanessa as if to show her she was right. Vanessa sighed and she went in for a hug. How could she fall in love with a guy who was in love with somebody else? She slapped herself mentally as she insulted herself, such a fool! she cursed.
