He glanced down at his watch, "shoot! If we don't get going soon we won't have enough time to do the stuff that I planned for us today."
I stuffed the last of the sandwich in my mouth, "Alright, let's go." Natsu helped me off the ground and gathered all the picnic stuff. I was honestly excited to see what Natsu had planned for us today. I haven't been this anxious and excited in a long time.
He took my hand in his, "I think you'll like what I have planned for us next."
"What is it?"
"You'll see." he winked.
I was about to hop out of my seat at any moment. The suspense is killing me!
I tugged on his shirt, "You're killing me! Where are we going?"
"Fine, I'll tell you." He chuckled, "To a poetry slam."
I squealed causing him to swerve a little, "I love poetry! They have places that are specifically for poetry?!"
"You don't get out much do you?"
"No not really, I don't really like going out that much."
"Are you afraid of the outside world or something?"
"No." I hit his shoulder playfully, "I just don't have any friends to hang out with."
"Well you have me now, so don't worry."
"I know," I smiled at him. He turned to me but quickly turned back to the road with a distorted look on his face.
"What's with the face?" I asked.
"What face? This is just my face," he said a little too quickly.
"Why are you making that ugly face?" I raised my brow.
"I told you this is just my face."
Such a little liar.
He turned into this small building, "we're here."
I looked out my window, excited, "is this the place!?"
"Yep." He got out his car and opened the door for me.
I walked inside and it had this fresh aroma of vanilla candles and fresh coffee.
My life is complete!
"Alright! next up is Alyssa with her poem, distant." The crowd clapped as a girl who looked about my age.
"This is my poem called, distant."
Natsu and I found a table in front and watched the girl.
"You are not mine,
But sometimes I pretend that you wish you were.I create this idea that you secretly want me.
And I often forget it's just something I made up.
You do not want me,
And you are not mine."The crowd went wild as she bowed and went off the stage.
That was beautiful! The way you can express your feelings through poetry is just so amazing!
"Hey Natsu did you-" I saw him staring out of space looking a little sad.
"Are you ok?" I asked him breaking him away from his train of thought.
"Yeah I'm fine. It's just..." he took a deep breath, "lets just say that I can relate to that poem."
