I grew up with an ordinary family, made ordinary friends, and lived a mundane life. I had a father and mother, like everybody did. I had a brother who meant the world to me, and an adopted sister that I cared for as if we were of the same blood.
Yes, there were the Titans. Yes, there were the walls. I acknowledged all of those, even joined the most reckless of military groups to try and change that. I've seen death and destruction. I've felt pain like no other. Yet, my life was still very ordinary. How could I complain, that the chance to live is still in my grasp? I was simply doing my job, like any other person would.
My life was ordinary. And yet, it was still so beautiful.
