"Excuse me," asked Eren timidly. "Could I go to the toilet?"

"You already went earlier," one of the Military Police scowled.

"Then, can I have a glass of water?"

"Hey, understand the situation you're in," the other Military Police snapped. "Damn monster."

Eren cringed, then sighed. Monster? I guess they're not wrong about that.

He gazed at his restraints. Am I so scary that they need to restrain me this much? But...I shouldn't be that surprised. I don't really understand this all myself. I should just be happy I haven't been killed yet.

Eren laid back in his bed, exhaling deeply.

"Be patient for a little longer," Commander Erwin had said. "We'll try to sort things out."

Seeing the Survey Corps had rattled Eren. Not only was he looking at the two people he'd idolized for so long, it was a reminder of where his older sister had gone to.

"(Y/N)..." he mumbled. "Where are you...?"

After a few moments, a few bumps and clangs could be heard outside his cell. Eren tensed, thinking it was Erwin and Levi again.

As he inched closer, a face appeared between the bars in his cell, wide eyes behind glasses staring him down. Eren moved back, shocked by the new face.

The creepy face had soon morphed into a smile. "So you're Eren, huh? You okay? Feeling filthy? Sorry for making you wait for so long. You can finally leave this place."

Eren felt a huge weight lift from his shoulders, sighing in relief as a hopeful smile spread across his face.

It soon disappeared as the person backed up and was joined by a blonde male. "Though, you'll have to wear these."

They held up a pair of handcuffs. Eren sighed. Obviously, he thought.

As he was led outside, the female put her hands behind her back and conversed with Eren casually.

"I'm from the Recon Corps. Major Hanji Zoe," she said. She later gestured to the blonde male, who was sniffing Eren intently. "He's fellow Major Mike Zacharias."

Eren cringed away from Mike, who was invading every inch of Eren's personal space.

"Ah, he just has this habit of sniffing people when they first meet," Hanji commented nonchalantly, looking as Mike gave Eren one last sniff, pulled away, and smiled. "Then he laughs like that. I wouldn't read much into it, though. He's skilled enough to become a major, after all."

Eren managed a shrug.

"So, Eren Jaeger, is it?" Hanji said. "Any relation to (Y/N) Jaeger?"

"Y-yes!" Eren stammered. "She's my older sister."

"Ah, so she was right," Hanji said. "So she did have a younger brother, and an adoptive sister too?"

Eren nodded.

"Lovely girl, your sister," Hanji said, smiling. "Exceptional in battle. I'd expect no less than from a member of Levi's squad."

"She smells like cakes," Mike said.

Eren tried to ignore that last part. "Levi's squad...my sister..." He perked up. "So my sister's around?"

"Yes, she is. She arrived here just now, before Mike and I came to get you."

Eren sighed in relief. A familiar face in this sea of strangers was like a gift. He had longed to see his sister for so long. Her face surfaced in his mind. Though he loved her dearly, Eren was surprised to feel dread and guilt building up in his chest.

But then realization dawned on him. Why he was reluctant to see his sister, despite being the one person he needed to see the most.

It was because (Y/N) reminded Eren so much of their mother.

"Oh, we chatted all the time away. We're already here." Hanji pointed to a set of doors, pulling Eren out of his thoughts.

"Well, I guess you're better off without an explanation, too." Hanji nodded to the two Military Police, who pushed Eren inside.

"W-wait!" He panicked, looking back at Hanji and Mike.

"We don't have a choice," Hanji said in a low voice. "But to trust you blindly. Don't let your sister down. Good luck."

Hanji slammed the doors shut, leaving Eren alone with his fearful thoughts.

It'll be okay, he assured himself. Even if I don't know what'll happen. But really...
