Chapter 2

Hailey Cassander

"Hailey?" Penny asked as she entered the comfort room. I could hear her footsteps going near my cubicle.

I immediately wiped my tears using my handkerchief.

"Y-yes?" I asked.

I went out and she was standing in front of the fifth cubicle, I was at the second.

She walked fast towards me. Without hesitation she hugged me, checking my wrists, there was none.

"Good" she said.

"I'm over it okay, I don't do self harm" I explained.

"Good" she repeated.

We went outside and decided to go to Starbucks for coffee. There was one around the corner so we didn't need a ride.

I ordered Iced Coffee Mocha while Penny ordered White Chocolate Mocha. We took our seats and waited for our order.

I took my headphones out to listen to songs when Penny stopped me.

"We need to talk about this" she said while holding my headphones away from me.

"Okay, we will. Just give me my headphones" I explained while trying to reach out my hand for the headphone.

She slowly gave it to me as I placed it in my bag. I closed the zipper and faced her.

"What now?" I asked.

"What happened when you were at the bathroom?" She asked still not losing eye contact.

"Okay, I'll answer you when you'll stop staring at me" I said.

She finally lost eye contact and so I started.

"So a while ago, I needed to go to the bathroom to fix my makeup, but when I finally went there these two girls were talking about a band, Jack's Band specifically. She was talking about how she shipped Jack and his new girlfriend." I explained.

"Who's the girlfriend?" She asked.

"Hmm, I forgot but she was probably Diane Vae?" I shrugged.

"Omg Diane Vae??" She shrieked.

"Why?" I asked.

"She's a famous actress and singer in Hollywood, how can't you not know about her?"

"I'm not updated to any of the famous artist in the world ya know" I sarcastically said.

"Anyways what happened next?" She asked.

"Well that's it, I just went to a cubicle and sat there crying until you came" I answered.

"Penny and Hailey!" The barista said, I stood up and got our drinks.

"In times like this your supposed to be calling me" she reminded.

"You keep saying that" I smirked and took a sip from my coffee.

Then my phone rang.

"Hello?" I greeted.

"Uh, mom can you bring my cap and vans to school, I forgot to bring them for our get together with friends--"

"Oh I'm sorry but you have the wrong number" I said.

"Oh sorry, hold on for a sec" he said.

Then I heard background sounds. "Lily are you sure this is mom's number?"

I just silently laughed.

"Who's that?" Penny whispered.

"I don't know" I whispered back.

Then he finally spoke after those background sounds I've heard.

"I'm so sorry, this isnt a prank call I promise, really sorry again" he apologized.

"No it's fine, I understand" I said.

"Okay thanks" he said and ended the call.

Phew, I thought it was one of those prank calls. I hate it.

"Let's go?" I asked.

She nodded as we went out. It was 5:32 pm. Mom was supposed to fetch me at 5:30.

I went to the school's parking lot to see if my mom's car is there. After looking for our car, I saw our white Ford in the front row. Since it wasn't heavily tinted, I could see my mom's silhouette, she was reading a book, probably her favorite.

I started walking to the car and finally went in.

"Hey mom" I said.

"Hey" she greeted, closing her book and placing it at the back.

"So how was school?" She asked.

"Let's not talk about it" I said, closing my eyes.

She started the car.

Few minutes later, we were already home. I went outside and walked towards the front door.

Obviously, I went straight to my room to change into my night attire. After doing so, I jumped to my bed while I have my phone on my hand.

Then few minutes later my phone rang again.

"Hello?" I greeted, as usual.

"Hey, meet up in Bella Vista Park entrance" he said.

Hm, same voice from the person who mistakenly called me awhile ago.

"Um, s-s-ure?" I lisped.

"Awesome" he said then ended the call.

Well, he might think I'm pranking him so I'll give it a go.

I dressed up and went to Bella Vista Park. It was only a 15 minute ride from my house. As soon as I was at the park, I stayed at the entrance as he -which I don't even know who he is- instructed.

"Thanks, I'll call you later" I hear the same voice. I turned around seeing him getting out of his van.

"Um, hi?" I greeted.

When he looked at me he was shocked.

"Oh sht" he cursed.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"Ugh, wrong number again" he said.

"Pfft, seriously?" I jested.

"Yeah, but um, it would be rude if I don't introduce myself" he chuckled.

"The name's Blake Gray" he introduced.
