Chapter 3

Hailey Cassander

"The name's Hailey Cassander" I said mimicking his greeting.

He just chuckled.

"So, I was supposed to meet up with my girlfriend" he said.

"Oh, I have to go, she might get the wrong idea" I excused, while laughing.

"Okay, and uh we can be friends right?" He asked.

"Sure" I shouted while going to my car. Fortunately I have my driver's license with me.

I was already home, since the park was near our house.

Waking up, I hear nothing but the sound of birds chirping outside on my window. I was kind of feeling the Cinderella moment when she'd wake up with birds on her window.

I went to my bathroom and took a quick bath. Finally I was done and wore my usual attire, a shirt, skinny jeans and vans. After that, I went downstairs to eat breakfast

"Morning mum" l greeted.

"Morning sweetie! By the way your dad's coming home tomorrow" mom announced.

Omg, really?

"Oh, I miss him so much" I said.

"I do too"

After eating breakfast I had to go to school. Ugh, school didn't go fast this day. I've been dreading to end this day.

Classes went by pretty slow. But thank God, it was finally lunch time.

I sat with Penny since we both have the same lunch time. I mean, everyone does.
"Omg, have you heard? Jack's band is going here for the performance later" Penny squealed.

Oh no.

"What??" I almost choked from the burger I was eating.

"Yeah!" she answered

I grabbed a tissue to wiped my mouth.

Oh no, why? He's coming back. Why? Is he gonna break my heart again? Without him realizing it??

Okay, relax Hailey, it's just a performance nothing to personal.

Soon after, lunch was done and the program would start at 1:00.

We took our seats at the gymnasium. Soon it was time for them to perform so everybody went silent.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I formally welcome our guests, all across Canada. They will be performing their covers on music. Please give a round of applause" and as said, we clapped out hands as they started the beat of their song.

"Thank you all for listening today, have a good day everyone, we love you!" Jack ends the song as everyone screams.

Soon after, the gymnasium was empty except for the band.

"Psst, let's go backstage" I whispered

"You're crazy" Penny whispered back.

"Trust me"

"Okay fine"

We silently tiptoed to the backstage. I saw people fixing their instruments, talking and walking towards the door.

But what really caught my eye was two persons. I could really see what their mouth was saying but my eyes widened as they hugged tightly.

And guess who they were?

Ofcourse, the one and only Jack Zion and Diane Vae.

Oh God, I really wanted to get out of there but my feet felt like it was glued on the floor.

"Okay let's go before they could see us" Penny instructed.

But like I said, I felt like my feet were glued on the floor.

"Hailey,Hailey!" Penny whispered.

"Not so fast you two" a guard yelled at the back.

"Oh no!" I said while running towards Jack's direction. I guess I was in for a surprise when a guy with a luggage bag appeared right in front of me as I ran towards him.

Next thing I knew, his bags fell and so did we.

"Hailey?" A guy asked. No not just any guy, Jack asked.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Ugh, I don't know" I groaned, standing up.

He sighed and pulled me outside making the two of us alone.

"Answer me" he said sternly.

"I just wanted to see you, okay" I blurted out.

"What for??"

"If only you know how it hurts!" I shouted.

"You have to move on Hailey, I'm already happy with what I have" he said.

"Okay, I will" I mumbled while walking away.

I decided to go to the nearest park I can go, it's where I can set my mind off things.

I went to Bella Vista Park, since it's the nearest. I sat on a bench and tried my best not to sob.

"You have to move on Hailey, I'm already happy with what I have"

And why am I not happy yet?

Why am I still this bitter person who can't move on from a guy she loved two years ago.

"Mind if I sit here?"

I looked around, seeing the guy I met yesterday.

"Sure" I answered, moving to the side

"So uh, you're here because you're bored huh?" Blake asked.

"Nope, it's actually more than that" I said.

"What is it?"

"Heartbroken"

"Oh, that's why I'm here too" he said.

"Oh really, what happened?" I asked facing him, he was looking down.

"She.." He trailed "cheated on me"

That must've hurt, I mean Jack didn't cheated on me he just broke up with me.

"Oh, I'm sorry for that" I said.

"No it's okay" he said forcing a smile.

Then it became silent.

"So, why are you broken hearted?" He asked, breaking the silence.

"Well, he broke up with me years ago" I started "then, he came to my school since his band was supposed to perform"

"That's it?" He asked.

"I'm not yet finished" I laughed.

"So anyways, I had this really crazy idea of meeting him backstage, but it didn't go as plan. Well it's a long story but I'll just skip that part, so we were alone outside the backstage and we had an argument. The thing that hurt me was that he was happy with his new girlfriend, Diane Vae." I said while rolling my eyes.

"Diane Vae??" He asked.

"Oh, don't get me started" I warned.
