Author's POV
Today is Wendy's birthday and Mark had something special planned for her. On the bus, Mark said happy birthday about 50 times.
"Happy birthday!"
Irene's POV
It's Wendy's birthday today? I FORGOT!
"Happy birthday, Wannie!" I exclaimed.
Wendy's POV
She said her nickname for me, how sweet. Though, I wonder if she actually remembered my birthday...
I replied anyways, "Thank you!"
Author's POV
It was another boring school day, but with more couples. Finally, Mark walked with Wendy outside to the field and started to rap the birthday song. Jaebum came in with an Olaf cake, Wendy's favorite. Yugyeom, Bambam, Joy, and Yeri started singing the birthday song. Irene and Seulgi were the only ones not there.
"Thank you so much! I can't believe you got the Olaf cake!" Wendy shouted happily.
"Go make a wish, Princess!" Mark shouted.
Wendy's wish: I wish Irene and I will be good friends again and I hope Mark likes me.
Wendy blew out the candles and suddenly wondered where's Irene and Seulgi.
"Where's Irene and Seulgi?" she asked.
"I saw them go into the parking lot," Jaebum answered.
"I'll be right back," she replied.
Wendy walked to the parking lot and saw Irene. She was about to walk closer to her until she heard Irene say, "Seulgi, I need your help. I forgot Wendy's birthday! I need to get her a present!"
"You forgot my birthday?"
Irene turned around and saw Wendy standing there, tears almost coming out of her eyes.
"I'm sorry...."
"You should know that I don't care about presents. Don't you remember what we do for our birthdays? You make the seaweed soup and I bake you a cake. That's how it's always been."
Seulgi didn't know what to do. Instead she just replied, "I'm going to leave you guys alone now."
Irene felt tears in her eyes too.
"I'm sorry for that also."
"Irene, I know we haven't been great friends lately."
Silence.
Wendy couldn't take it anymore.
"I just want my best friend back!"
Irene hugged Wendy tightly. "And your best friend is right here," Irene responded.
