Chapter 9 - Confusion.

I finally regained some consciousness after a while. "You feeling better honey?" mum said. I was surprised that I woke up in my room after all that. "Yeah, what happened mum?"I asked. "Well, after you got in a fight at school with that other kid. The teachers called me to come and get you"

"I cannot believe that you got in a fight on your first day of school"she said. "I'm sorry mum but that other kid is an ass. He hit a cheap shot on me. I could've beaten him if I wanted to" I said to her.

"Watch your language, Calum and you better not cause anymore trouble in school. Now get some rest" she said as she went out of my room.

I looked in the mirror but I couldn't see any bruises and what not. How did he even knock me out, I thought to myself. I washed my face and laid on the bed to rest.

I'm still very confused about what's going on right now. If Brennan isn't with Annie then why is Annie acting like this. Why can't we be more than friends. We are made for each other. I kept thinking of that moment we had in the cab. It was something special that only happens once in a lifetime.

I think I should text Annie and ask her the truth. I got on my phone and texted her, "Hey Annie, are you feeling any better?".

She didn't reply. Maybe she's busy with gymnastics or school or something. While I stared at the text, I thought to myself, if Brennan is with Liv then why did he punch me on the face. Does he still have feelings for Annie? He must surely have.

He also did say that I stole her from him. Does that mean that him and Annie were in a relationship or something. If that were the case then why did Annie kissed me in the cab?

So many questions I had, but very few answers. I decided to get on instagram because I was getting really stressed and i needed to get my mind off things. As I was scrolling through my feed, I had a sudden urge to search for Annie's instagram. I just typed her name in the search bar and there it was, her instagram profile.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her amount of followers. She had over 1 million. Wait a sec, she's really really famous. But how? How did she get this many followers. I saw her description and it said "Check me out on YouTube" followed by a link. I clicked on it and it showed a YouTube channel called "Bratayley" and it had over 3 million subscribers.

I knew that their family always call themselves the bratayleys but I didn't know why. I thought it was just a nickname or something.

They post a video every single day, since 2011 and had tons of views. I decided to click on one, which was uploaded yesterday. It was a vlog of their daily life. I didn't know that my neighbours were actually, really famous, daily vloggers.

Their videos are actually really interesting and funny. I really enjoyed it. But I noticed that Annie was lately quite depressed and is barely in any of the newer videos. Caleb though, was very happy and always crack some jokes here and there.

As I kept researching on the Bratayleys. I eventually went back to the instagram search bar and typed in #bratayley. There were hundreds and thousands of pics and edits from their fans. They actually have a really big fan base, no wonder Annie have that much followers.

As I was scrolling through the pics and edits, one post caught my eye. It was an edit of Annie and Brennan with the caption, "Hopefully they get back together. #brannie".

That answers my question of them being in a relationship in the past. There is actually a big amount of people that ships them. I was quite jealous looking at all these posts. They actually looked happy with each other.

I eventually got sick of viewing all those pics and edits, so I closed instagram and locked my phone before eventually slept on my bed.

A few hours later
I got up and it was already dark outside. I looked at the time, it was half past seven. I checked my phone and there was a message from Annie. She said that she's feeling way better.

"Thats amazing Annie. But I have one request though, I think I deserve to know the truth" I texted her.

"Its hard to think about this Cal. I think you deserve to know the truth too but it's complicated" she replied back.

"Well then let me ask a question, who actually is Brennan? Is he your boyfriend or what?" I asked.

"No he's not. He's just someone that I'm trying to forget" she answered.

"Do you know that he punched me until I went unconscious at school just now. He said that I stole you from him"I asked again.

"OMG are you okay Calum? I'm sorry about all that. I feel so bad. But I swear to God that I'm not in any relationship with him right now" she said.

"Wait so you were in a relationship with him?" I asked.

"Yes but that was a long time ago. We broke up because he cheated on me with my own best friend. Can we please not talk about this anymore" she texted.

"Wait, one last question. Why can't we be more than friends? I'm in love with you Annie" I texted with some hope that she would accept me back.

"I, I'm sorry Calum but I don't think this is the right thing to do. I have feelings for you but I just, can't be with you" she replied.

"But why??" I asked.

"Because I have feelings for Brennan too" she answered. My heart literally broke into several pieces reading that text.

"Its quite late, Cal and I have gymnastics tomorrow. So, goodnight" she texted.

"Goodnight princess" i replied while trying to hold back some tears from coming out my eyes.
