Chapter 10 - Family.

Annie POV
Why is my heart playing games with me like this? I'm so naive. I should stop disappointing people, just so I can get what I want. I think it's better for everyone if I just disappear from this world. I can't do this anymore.

I went to the kitchen to get a knife or something sharp, to cut myself. I deserve to be tortured for everything that I've done.

Just as I had taken the knife, Caleb walked in the kitchen to get some snacks. I hid the knife behind my back so that Caleb wouldn't see it.

"Oh hey Annie. Whatcha doin' here?" Caleb asked. "Nothing, just getting some snacks" I answered. "Same" he said.

Before I could walk out the kitchen and into my room, he asked me another question. "Why are you acting so weird lately Annie? Wheres the adorable, funny and always jolly Annie I know?". I didn't say anything to him because I didn't know what to say.

"Remember the times when you would chase me around the house for no reason. We would make fun of Hayley because she's being such a brat. Make shout out videos for the fans and have so much fun doing it. What happen to that Annie?" He added.

I remembered all that. I just wish that sometimes I could turn back time to relive those memories. Caleb must've noticed my tears as he offers me a hug. "Come here Annie" as he puts his arms around my body.

"Why do you have a knife with you Annie?" he asked as he took the knife out of my hands. "Did you cut yourself?" as he checked both of my arms but he couldn't find any scars.

"I didn't Caleb. I wanted to, but I just realized that I shouldn't do all that. I'm sorry for being all depressed Caleb, I'm just going through a rough time" I said to him.

"Tell me all about it Annie. I'm your big bro, I should be protecting you" he said.

"Well, I'm torn by both Brennan and Calum" I said back to him. "My heart says I should be with Brennan but my mind says otherwise" I added.

"Oh, relationship issues?" he asked. "Annie, I don't wanna be the one to tell you this but Brennan is with Liv. I've seen them walking together around the city and all that. Haven't you seen their instagram or anything?" he said to me.

More tears start tearing down my face as I realized the fact that Brennan is with Liv. I hugged Caleb again. "I didn't know about them Caleb. I didnt think that Brennan would do such a thing and forget me that easily" I stuttered.

"I'm sorry Annie" as he hugged me even tighter. I've never been this sad before in my life. I just wanted to stay in Calebs arms and feel his warmth around me. I've never had this nice of a hug since... Calums. He is what I needed. I never should've turn him down like that. I should be with Calum.

Then suddenly, a person came into the kitchen. It was Hayley. "What are you guys doing here?" she asks.

"We're just.. we were planning to scare you Hayley!" Caleb sort of shouted as he chased Hayley out the kitchen. Before he went out the door, he asks me "Wanna join in?".

I grinned and said "Sure".

"ANNIE'S IT!!" Caleb shouts as he ran away from me. "I'm gonna catch ya" I shouted as well. It was fun having these family moments and I'm never gonna take any of it for granted ever again.

Calum POV
I just got home from school and went straight in my room, I was so worn out. What a day, I sighed. It was pretty tense between me and Brennan at school. He was sort of forced to apologize to me by the teachers. I didn't have any choice so I just accepted it even though I didn't want to.

I made some new friends though. They we're really nice and actually had manners. There was this guy named Luke. He said that he knows how I feel. He said that Brennan and him used to be best friends until one day, they got into a fight over a girl as well.

So now I know, that Brennan is just a player. He doesn't care about Annie. He just wants all the girls to himself to fulfill his sick desires.

I eventually went downstairs to watch the tv. As I was watching the telly, my mum sat down the couch beside me and said "Calum, we're gonna have dinner at the Bratayleys tonight".

"Wow are you serious mum?" I asked. "Yes, they wanted to have dinner with us to symbolize somewhat of a welcoming for us to America. So you better behave" she laughs. "Okay okay" I laughed as well.

I better get ready now cause I take quite a long time to get ready. And so I went upstairs again.

I'm gonna meet Annie, I thought to myself. Hopefully it doesn't get awkward over there. I'm gonna wear some neat clothes because I wanna try and hopefully win her heart back.
