Chapter 17
Callum
I woke up amongst feathers and torn apart sheets and most importantly Liv. I hadn't pulled the doona up over us last night but somehow in her sleep, her feet had slid into one of the ripped holes and made it into one big one. Feathers were tied in her curls and suck to her beautiful but fragile body. I hadn't realised how fragile it was till last night.
How easy would it be to kill her? My family didn't have many enemies but we had them. And the position we held meant that we always had a target on our backs. And our mates held that target.
All my other lovers had been werewolves. And though one or two of them I may have cared about very much, I never worried about their safety. And now all I could think about was Liv's safety.
I couldn't be killed easily. I was strong. Because I was the Alpha of my pack, I could draw the strength of my pack members, including my siblings, when I needed it. But so could other Alpha's. Since I was the Alpha King, in times of war, I could draw on strength from the alphas and their packs that I had alliances with.
So physically, I was the strongest wolf in Scotland.
Staring at my little Queen, she seemed like the most fragile. She didn't have the strength to protect herself like the rest of us.
She groaned and put my thoughts to a standstill.
"What time is it?" She moaned shifting onto her back and not opening her eyes.
"It's nine o'clock," I told her, tracing her feature as she groaned.
"Stop waking me up so early," she groaned, nuzzling my chest.
I chuckled, "its nine o'clock, not five. It's late."
She murmured a no.
"It's nine AM. And AM means morning which makes it early," she grumbled.
I shook my head at her explanations. I knelt down and nibbled at her neck. She started to giggle and squirmed even closer to me. Automatically, my hands found their way to her perfect arse, giving it a squeeze.
She yelped and pulled back.
I frowned, "what?"
"I-I'm sorry. I'm just a bit tender," she admitted sitting up on her knees.
I sat up too, examining her neck. Please tell me I didn't hurt her I prayed to myself.
"You didn't,"
I frowned when Liv spoke. When I realised how, all I could do was chuckle.
"I suppose it works both ways, huh?"
She nodded, "when you marked me, I got visions or, I was inside your head. I was you in your memories."
I nodded. Malcolm had said the same thing when Bonnie and he marked each other. I had, had the same experience too.
"Did you see memories too?" She asked.
I nodded, "it was just of you paintin'. But I felt how relaxed you were, how much you loved it. Why don't you sell you paintin's?"
She shrugged, "I might now. I suppose I'll be moving to Scotland in the near future."
My eyes widened, surprised. I hadn't realized that she wanted too.
"Oh, I didn't realize you felt that way."
"Well, isn't that the deal. I mean, you can't exactly run the estate, your pack and make sure other packs don't kill each other from New York, can you?"
I shrugged, I guess she was right.
"And besides, you have your family here and -."
"What about your family?" I asked her.
She swallowed and bowed her head.
"Well, of course I'll miss Amy. But it's not like I'll never see her again. And she could always visit."
I nodded agreeing, "of course. I would like to meet her."
She frowned, "really?"
"Why not? You've met my siblings, you know, in their happy, welcomin' way," she giggled, "I want to meet her. And I want her here, with you, whenever you want."
"You want her here?"
Again, she was surprised.
"Why can't you get this through your head?"
She shrugged, "I don't know. Amy has a big heart and all but she kind of has a big mouth. I doubt she could keep the whole werewolf thing a secret."
"Well I kept it from you long enough."
She frowned, "I'm pretty sure it was three days."
I opened my mouth to correct her but she was right. It was strange to think that we had only known each other for five days.
"Well, we'll make it work. I want my home to be your home," I declared.
"You're my home," she said wrapping her arms around my neck and pulling me close.
I pecked her lips and went in for more when she yelped and pulled back.
"Tender?" I asked.
She nodded.Olivia
I stared at myself in the mirror. I looked the same. Well, not really. I wore new jeans, a pale pink sweater and a white blouse underneath. Feathers were still tangled in my hair that I refused to pull out. I had a bite mark on the crook of my neck that hadn't quite healed. My neck was sore. It felt like it was kinked but no matter how much I massaged it, the pain didn't stop. I guess Callum had bitten me harder than I had realized.
Applying another patch, I sighed and walked out of the room. I halted to a stop and my eyes widen at the five women at work. It was a mission. Two younger girls started pulling off the sheets as the two older women lifted the mattress as the youngest one of them all vacuumed up the fluff and feathers.
When the older women struggled with the mattress, I couldn't help but step in.
"Let me help,"
They froze for a moment, sharing looks before allowing me to help them. We walked the torn apart mattress out of the room, before a hand dragged me away.
"Let them do their job," Callum said leading me over to the wall.
"But I feel so guilty. There cleaning up our mess."
"Doesn't matter. You're their Queen. And queens do not clean up."
"Then what do queens do?" I asked titling my head.
"They rest till her king is ready for another round."
I giggled, wrapping my arms around his neck and leaned up to kiss him. His arms half lifted me up as I felt the cold brick wall at my back.
In the back ground, I heard a cough and frowned when Callum pulled back.
"I hate to interrupt but we actually like those bricks claw mark free,"
I narrowed my eyes at Graham as a cheeky grin formed on his face.
"What's goin' on Graham?" Callum sighed, dropping me.
"Archie needs you," Callum frowned and didn't move, "in the basement."
Realisation washed over his face but I was still confused. What the hell was in the basement?
"I'll be back later," Callum said kissing my cheek. A feather appeared in his fingers and he playfully tapped my nose with it. A grin that felt bigger than my face spread over it, as I watched Callum walk away.
"By the way, nice work with the mattress," Graham muttered to him.
"Shut it Graham."
