Chapter 9

"I-I'm working for him."

Kion's eyes widened. He looked at you in shock. "R-Remember when I told you that I got separated from my parents?" He gave a small nod, "Well the pack of hyenas that attacked my parents, was lead by Jonjon. Now Jonjon is the only one who knows where my parents are, we made a deal, I'd hunt for him, and he'd tell me where my parents are." Kion had his back turned to you.

"Kion?" You called, softly. He turned sharply, canines bearing and eyes aflame, "I can't believe you wouldn't tell me this! I-I could have helped! And you wouldn't have to work for Jonjon! I can't believe you would do this to me! Y-You were the first I ever got so close to! You were the first for who I would give my life for without any hesitation! You were the first I ever loved!" 

You blinked back tears. "Kion I-" "No! I don't wanna hear it! Whether it's the truth or a lie! Go, before I use my roar on you!" "Kion-" "GO!" 

Your eyes widened, you feared that look in his eyes. You bolted from there, running and running till you lost your breath. He loved you, and you broke his trust. Tears welled up in your eyes. You can still be with your parents but at what price? You lost Kion. Your heart broke, you lost him. Nothing was worth that. Nothing, not even your parents. You were going to set everything straight.

"Jonjon!" You said confidently, glaring daggers up at him. "Ah! (Y/N)! How sweet of you to join us for dinner, did ya' bring any?" Jonjon said slyly. "No. I'm done with your hunting and black mail and you! I'm not interested in making any more deals with you." You walked higher up the ravine, to look him in the eye. "Fine, I respect your decision, but you do know that you'll never be able to know about your parents whereabouts." He smirked and the rest of the hyenas cornered you. You backed away cautiously. "Oh don't go to far behind, or you might slip! Too bad you quit (Y/N), cuz now I can't tell you that you'll find your parents by the Karamount river in the east. Oops! My mistake, you weren't supposed to know that, guess I'll just have to get rid of you." Jonjon pounced and you fell back. Pulling out your claws, you held on to the rock. Jonjon gave a crooked smile at you. He started to cackle, "Good bye and good riddance, (Y/-"

 "Get your paws off her!" 

Kion growled lowly as he stepped forward threateningly. "Get away from her." He hissed. The rest of the hyenas cowered at the sight of Kion, but Jonjon was going big or going home, he sneered at him.

"Not one more step Kion or I'll hurl her down into the river below!" Kion roared furiously and tackled Jonjon, then came to help you. Putting his paws on yours, he was about to pull you up when Jonjon tackled him down. The force from Kion's fall was too much for you to take and you lost your grip. 

Letting out a shriek, you fell into the river below. Stray logs pushed you back and forth, cutting you by the neck, back and paws. Water went down your throat and you gurgled and spat trying to get to the surface but it was of no use.

The world started to go dark, you started to loose your. This is it, you thought, I'm dying.
