At the house everyone was calm, and went about their nightly ruitine. Everybody was scattered around the house, not a care in the world that Tanya would arrive soon. How can they not be freaking out? I acted as if I was relaxed, but really I'm very nervous. Alice gasped for a reason, her vision couldnt have been some cheery light conversation between us and Tanya. What if they saw something that they werent letting me in on because they believe I would overreact? I wouldnt freak out if something minor happened, would I? I guess I understand how I'm the only one who is breaking a sweat, not literally of course. Maybe it's the fact that they've all known the Denali's for years and years. How could they possibly be worried about such close family friends? I bet if it was their mates she was after they'd care.

Renesme had been sleeping for a couple hours, Jacob up there with her. He promised he'd come downstairs when she came, but him and the wolves would stay behind the scenes, so we dont make a scene. This could be nothing after all. Maybe it is. It's possible she got lonely and just wanted to remind Edward of his options once more. Renesme asked to be woken up, but knowing Jake, he wont want to disturb her while she's sleeping. She'll whine about it a little bit in the morning, but she will get over it.

Alice walked in, and glanced at me anxiously. "She'll be here soon Bella and Edward... We'll all greet her, but then we will disperse slowly. Less commotion will make things easier. We will obviously be close, but it would be much easier if she gets out what she needs to say, and Edward can quickly put out the fire. Lightly Edward, don't be harsh, we don't want to lose a friendship."

"Quite a friendship," He said. "She hasn't visted in years, and then she comes on these terms. But oh well, it's her decision. At this point I could honestly care less if she ruins what our families have built."

Esme chose this time to walk in, a frown set on her face. "No relationship between us will be broken."

"I don't see how you could just decide that. She's paving her own path."

"You listen here Edward. Just because you might not agree with Tanya one hundred percent, doesnt mean we cant stay on good terms with the Denali's."

He was about to speak again, but I spoke first, placing my hand on his leg to stop him. "She's right. Don't ruin things for the rest of us and them because of this. Besides, youre the one who told me it wouldnt even be that bad. Are you hiding something from me?"

He looked like he was argueing with himself internally. "Nothing to hide really, I'm going to handle the situation as maturely as I can."

I fiddled with my engagement ring. "Now lets just hope she does the same."

He gazed at me, and Alice informed the house she'd be here any minute, and sure enough, I heard her car turn off the parkway, and down our long driveway. I sighed, debating shifting over to Edward's lap, but decided that would probably worsen things. Aparently Edward was on the same page as me, because his fingers intertwined with mine before we heard a light rapping on the door. Carlisle walked in and answered it, always a neutral and respectful person, which is comforting to always have around.

"Tanya! It's great to see you dear, it's been so long." He exclaimed, pulling her into a brief hug.

"Thank you Carlisle!" She said, returning his hug.

I didnt say anything, and just watched as the rest of the family came into the room to greet her. She looked gorgeous, with her medium length strawberry blonde hair and long eye lashes. I couldnt help but feel a little envious. Edward squeezed my hand. Oh crap. I forgot that Jasper can feel what I feel, and of course, Edward can read it through his mind. Thats a downside to having lots of powers in our family. Edward may not be able to hear my thoughts, but in a little way he can sort of feel me through Jasper. But hey, I'll take what I can get.
