"What? No!" I yelled, crossing my arms and looking out the window of the car.
"Bella love, calm down its just for a day."
Edward was now informing me that Alice planned to take me on yet another shopping trip this weekend. She never gave me a choice, and her idea of a small trip always lasted four to six hours nonstop, and entailed walking out with thousands of dollars blown. Not my money of course, she insists she pay for the whole thing, but even that doesnt make me not want to go any less.
"It's not as easy for a human you know." I grumbled, "She makes me try on everything and I hate it! I love that girl to death but she can be awfully annoying."
He eyed me before speaking. "I can't get you out of it. I tried."
If only we could get Alice back. Thoughts ran through my mind, and then I had an idea. "Edward! Lets prank Alice. She deserves it after the number of times she has forced me to go shopping with her."
"You can't really prank Alice. She's Alice. She'll know if were lieing, and she'd see it coming anyways."
"Well we can use her blind spots. We wont decide anything suddenly, and if we include werewolves she wont see anything."
Edwards fingers tightened around the steering wheel. "No werewolves. Besides were on our way now, theres not enough time."
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Obviously, but if we plan to have them apart of it, everything will dissapear, but since we never actually asked Jacob and the pack, they wont come."
"So we just think about them showing up and helping, so our future dissapears?" He questioned, speculating whether it would work or not.
"Yes. And remember no rash decisions. So the plan is, Jacob will come over and play video games in your room." I said winking, but continueing. "You and I will be having a talk about.. the color of your bed sheets. I decide I don't like them, and we get into a big, dumb arguement. Heres where the funny part comes in. We both randomly agree to break up because we cant work out these dumb differences. The whole family will hear it, and be clueless as to why we are seriously "breaking up" over something so dumb. Remember, were inviting Jacob over." I said, smiling. This should work. We've decided to include a werewolf, since thats her blind spot, even though he will never come.
"You sure this will work? You arent really a grade A actress." He said, giving me a crooked smile.
I stuck my tongue out, something Alice would do, and nodded. We pulled into the driveway and when we parked he got out to open my door at inhuman speed. We walked in hand and hand. I kept thinking of how we were going to call Jacob and invite him over, as Edward and I walked up into his room silently.
I sat on his bed, and started with small talk, so that things wouldnt seem obvious or rushed. The Cullens would already be super confused, considering they knew Edward and I were way too close to end things over a silly topic, yet ever. We would have to be very convincing, because even though the prank was aimed towards Alice, the whole family would still be eavesdropping once they heard something was up.
"Charlie wont be home until late tonight, so I can stay until eleven." I said. Normally we have a curfew of being indoors by nine, but he can stay until ten.
"Really? How come he's working so late tonight?" He asked, staring at me, sitting next to me on his bed.
I reached for one of his hands as I answered, stroking the front of it, relishing the soft, cold feel of it. "Everyone at his work came down with this nasty flu. So him and one other guy have been taking long shifts. At least Charlie doesnt have the long late night one though, that would stink." I smiled at my ability to come up with lies on the spot. I'm definitely getting better.
