Lila stepped out unto the balcony of the large home she lived in. She needed a break from all her books, and a break from the hidden basement where she studied.
See, Lila isn't your average thirteen year old girl. She has a huge secret. Lila Parkins is a real fairy. She has magic, and it was given to her when she was born. She was born to help people.
Now, Lila couldn't help people unless she learned how, and without her mother, who was also a fairy, to train her, Lila must learn pretty much on her own. Her older brother, Liam, helps her a bit, but he has his own training. Liam is a wizard.
So, Lila isn't at all a normal girl, but she's just fine with that.
With a sigh, Lila left the balcony and walked into her room. With a quick wave of her arm, she teleported herself back into the basement. "Back so soon?" He brother asked. Lila looked at him and smiled. "I want to help people as soon as I can, I don't have that much time to waste." She said, grabbing her book. Liam nodded. "Nor do I. Now tell me. Does this banana taste like an apple or a pear?" He asked, handing her a normal looking banana.
Lila took the banana from him and peeled it. This was normal, her testing things for him, to see if his spells worked. She look a small bite, and a smile came to her face. "Liam, this tastes like candy!" She said, smiling. Liam sighed. "I'm glad it tastes good. Meanwhile, I'm trying to make it taste like another fruit." He said, then returned to his stack of bananas.
Lila finished the banana, and then looked at her book. Wings and Spells, it was called. The chapter she was currently reading was called, "Clouds, and how to fly through them." Lila hasn't yet mastered flight though she was quite close, and that was the first step in becoming a fairy. She read through the chapter, then waved her hand, making herself teleport to an abandoned field.
Lila fluttered her wings, and slowly used her hands to make herself float. Then she tried gliding through the air. After a minute, she fell down. Lila sighed, and tried again.
Five hours later, Lila had finally mastered flight. With a big smile on her face, she teleported herself back to her basement. "Liam! I flew!" She exclaimed, fluttering in the air. Her brother turned to look at her. "Lila! That's amazing! And I think I finally mastered this spell." He said, then handed her a banana. Lila peeled it and bit off a small piece. Her face shriveled up. "Eww! It tastes like a mango!" She shrieked, and waved her hand, making a apple appear. "Yes! I finally mastered the spell!" Liam said excitedly, and Lila sighed, taking a bite of her apple. "Good, because I think you ruined bananas for me." She said as she chewed. Liam frowned at her. "Lila, don't talk with food in your mouth." Lila sighed loudly but didn't say anything.Ok you guys! I bet you weren't expecting this! To tell you the truth, I wasn't either. But, I decided to enter the #JustWriteIt contest, and this time, try to complete it. This book won't have normal updates, I'll just update as soon as I write a chapter!
