My heart rate quickened as he sat up, letting my amulet drop to my chest. I suddenly felt the need to put my dress on and run. How did he know? He grinned and started to button his black shirt.
"Come on, don't you think others have tried? I'm a lost cause, sweetheart. I'm incurable," he said.
I pulled my dress up, hugging it to my chest. He buttoned his collar and straightened it. He leaned down on all fours and crawled above me, his lips so close to mine. He grinned, his minty breath warm against me.
"What do you mean?" I stuttered.
"That Great Council of yours gave you an impossible case. I know all about your little world up there. I'm telling you, you should just walk away right now, and never look back," he suggested.
I shook my head. I never give up on my clients. This one may be hard, but I can turn him. I snapped my fingers and changed into jeans, sneakers, and a black hoodie. My hair was in a loose ponytail, and my make-up was gone. I glared at him as he put his tie back on, slipping on his jacket. I climbed back into my seat and crossed my arms as he fixed his eat. He flashed me a grin and revved the engine, pulling out of the alley. I glared out the window.
I could change him. Besides, how did he know about angels? He said many visited him, but they never revealed they were angels. Had he tricked them? He parked in front of a mansion, getting out. So this was his place. I got out and stormed in, busting through the door and sitting on his couch. I crossed my arms and waited. He walked in, smiling. I looked around at his house, noting the onyx stairs, the obsidian counters. The stairs twisted, leading to the next level.
I looked behind me and saw a French maid dusting a vase. She was beautiful, a dark tan with black hair. A pale blonde was doing dishes. I made a mental note to set them free. I snapped my head back around as Toby put his arm around me, sitting down. He leaned in to kiss me, but I refused.
"You're better than this. Let these girls go, and forget all about being 'the bad guy'," I instructed in my hypnotic voice. It didn't seem to effect him.
He chuckled and pulled me onto his lap. I tried to climb back off, but he had an iron grip. He pinned me so I was straddling him, kissing me on the lips. I wanted to lean back, but he bit my lip to keep me from leaving. Okay, maybe I could seduce him and take control? I gave in and kissed him back, pressing against him.
He let go of my legs and moved them to my lower back. I groaned against his lips and slowly ground on his lap. His tongue forced its way between my teeth and explored my mouth. He slipped his hands up the back of my hoodie, pulling it up over my head. I was wearing a blue tank top on underneath. He kissed me again, leaving a trail down my neck and to my cleavage. I stopped and grabbed his crotch, making him gasp. I rested my knee on it, moving my hands up to his shoulders. My grip turned to steel, my eyes dark.
"Now tell me, what do you know about us?" I asked icily.
"C'mon sweetheart, do you really wanna know that? It's much more boring than what I could do to you," he taunted.
"You're messing with the most ruthless, trained, skilled angel. I'd suggest answering before I blow your balls sky high," I said through gritted teeth.
There was a crash behind him and I looked up. A strange creature had busted through one of the windows. I recognized it as evil. Toby got up and pointed his open palm at it. He glared, and the creature wailed in pain. He shot a ball of fire at it, and it was burnt to ashes.
"Stupid imps," he mumbled.
"You're a fallen angel," I whispered.
He turned towards me, and I could see his horns and slotted eyes clearly.
"No sweetheart, I'm much worse. I'm a demon," he corrected.
