You just moved in to a new neighbourhood. It's a day away from the place you've grown at. You already missed everyone and everything there. You missed your room, the little garden you and your mom maintained, the stray dogs that became close to your heart, and you missed your neighbours, especially your best friend, Patrick.

You feel empty without the things and the people you grew up with. Everything felt strange, although the new house your mom bought is in a good spot since it shows the overview of the city which provides you a little comfort.

It's already 11 in the evening and it's getting colder but it seems like you don't even get affected by the chilly temperature. You thought you'd sneak out of the house and take a walk. You know you'd never get lost. This place seems easy to navigate.

So you slipped on your sneakers, not giving a damn if you're in your pajamas, and quietly got out of your room. You quietly went downstairs but then gasped when you saw your mom still up, cleaning the kitchen and arranging the whole ground floor.

"You're up." She said. "Where are you going?"

"Out for a walk. I couldn't sleep so I decided I'd walk around this neighbourhood or jut stay at the vacant lot beside out house to watch the the city." You answered honestly since there would be no point in making up a story or an excuse or a lie.

"A walk would be nice. But I think it'd be better if you stay in the vacant lot. We're not familiar with this place yet, honey." Your mother warned you, giving you a small yet quick smile.

"Yeah, I uh I'll be right back when the bed calls my name already." You lightly humored as you walk towards the front door.

"Take care, honey. I love you." Your mother said as you opened the door.

"Will do. Love you too, ma." You replied and finally went out, shutting the door behind you.

You slipped your hands inside the pockets of your pajama blouse, feeling the warmth of your phone on the other pocket, and decided you'd stay at the vacant lot for a while to admire the breathtaking sight of the city.

Your phone starts to play your phone ringtone which means someone is calling you. You quickly pulled out your phone and glanced at the caller ID, chuckling at the name: Dorktrick Stumph

You pressed the green button and brought up the phone to your ear, your heart beating a little fast and hard, excited to hear his voice again.

P: Hey, y/n. How are you doing?"

Y: Not so good. I missed everyone and everything back there.

P: I missed you too. ... So, how's the new place you're going to stay at for a long time?"

Y: It's really beautiful here. The whole city can be seen from here. I can send you a picture every night thought it'd just look the same.

P: That's fine. Take a picture with you in it. The city's beauty is nothing compared to yours.
