Beck's POV
I open my eyes and see that I'm on a cold, wooden floor. Next to me lies Jade. I look around the room trying to remember where I am.
There's a black bed, a white desk, and black drawers. Pictures of Cat, Jade, Andre, Robbie, and I are all over the walls. Mostly of Jade and I. Next to me lay two glasses, an almost empty bottle of Scotch, and cocktail ingredients.
Oh ya, I'm at Jade's house.
I look at Jade. She's silently sleeping.
I love this girl so much. She's so beautiful and talented. And when we're alone, she's so nice. I love waking up next to her. Especially when I'm the first one up and I get to watch her while she's so peaceful.
I decide to lye down closer to her and pretend to be asleep. Whenever she wakes up first, she brushes her hands through my hair. It's really nice.
But my plans are broken within a minute. The door slams open and I sit straight up. Jade wakes up right after.
"Oh my hell!" Jade's Dad screams, "What's going on?!"
"We were.. Umm..." Jade scrambles for words. She's almost never like that. The only time she ever has trouble for words is when she's nervous.
"You," Jade's Dad points at me, "Wait downstairs."
"But-"
"Just go!"
"Ja-"
Jade stares at me in the eyes, "I'll be fine. Go."
I nod my head and shut the door on my way out. What is it they need to talk about that I can't hear?
As soon as I sit down on the bench by the front door, I hear muffled yelling. It takes every nerve inside me not to go and interfere with Jade and her Dad. What if she gets hurt?
The yelling goes on for about five more minutes. Then all of a sudden, everything goes quiet. The only thing that I can hear is my own breath.
Upstairs I hear the door open roughly.
"You can't do that to me Dad!" Jade yells.
"Oh yes I can! I don't care where you go! The streets, a friends! Be gone!" Her Dad yells back.
"But-"
"Be. Gone." Her dad slams the door and stomps down the stairs. He turns towards the living room.
What does he mean by 'be gone?'
As soon as I can't see him anymore, I run up the stairs. Skipping them by twos. I run to Jade's room and open the door.
"Jade?"
She lies in a lump on her bed; sobbing. I run to her side and immediately begin to run her back.
"What's wrong baby?"
She sucks in a couple of breaths and continues to cry.
"Jade?"
"H-h-he..." Jade turns her head towards the wall and lets another sob out.
"What happened sweetie?"
It takes Jade five minutes to finally speak again. But when she does, she hiccups every second. That's what she does when she recovers from crying.
"M-m-my D-d-dad k-k-kicked m-m-m-me o-out," she starts to cry again but I wipe away the tear.
"Jade? I don't understand what you're saying."
She takes a couple deep breaths in. In and out.
"M-m-my," she stops,"Breathe Jade. Breath Jade."
I run Jade's back and help her sit up. She sits right across from me on her bed
"Okay, what's wrong?" I ask her again.
"M-my Dad kicked me out."
"He what?"
"He kicked me out. As in banished me and is never letting me live here again!" She wipes her remaining tears off her cheeks and stares angrily at the floor.
"Are you sure?!"
"Yes Beck! His exact words were 'get out!' He told me I have until Sunday to get my things and get out! Where am I going to stay?! I can't live with Cat. Her brother's too crazy. I can't live on the streets!"
I put my finger to her lips, "Shh... Shh..."
She climbs into my lap and begins to cry again.
"Beck! I can't take this! I'm only seventeen!"
"I know... I know..." I run her head and play with her hair.
But she doesn't need to worry. I already have had a home for her for a while.
Jade's going to live with me.
Why you may ask?
Because Jade's my home. So I need her at the physical place.
"Pack your things babe. I already know a place," I tell her.
She lifts herself out of my lap.
"Where?"
"Just wait and see. I'll be back in a half hour."
"Okay."
I kiss her cheek briefly and run out the door. After pulling out of the West's driveway, I go straight to Walmart, which is right around the corner from Jade's.-----------
A half hour later, I'm at Mr. West's doorstep. I don't bother knocking though. I don't care if I'm being rude. He deserves it. How could he kick Jade out?!
I run up the stairs and bonk right into Jade; sending us tumbling to the floor.
"Are you okay?!"
She laughs at me, "Ya. You should see the look on your face right now!"
I'm very happy that I can still see joy in her right now. She's not 100% miserable.
"Do you have everything that you'll need for tonight and tomorrow?" I ask her.
"No. I packed as many clothes that I could possibly fit in this suitcase. Plus my bathroom stuff."
"Okay! That's fine. Let's go!"
I excitedly lead her to the car. It's only know that I feel this way. I guess if literally just hit me that I get to wake up to Jade every morning.
"Oh. Put this on," I hand Jade the black blindfold I picked up.
"Come on Beck!" She sighs.
"Yes! Do it!"
She grudgingly put the blind fold over her arms and waits. I take a couple wrong turns on purpose to mess her up. We have the way to each other's houses by heart.
I pull into the driveway next to the RV minutes later. The car barely skins the grass. Hopefully my parents won't kill me.
"Okay babe," I say as I pick her up bridal style. "Welcome home."---------
