Beck's POV
She didn't listen.
Of course she didn't though. She's Jade.
And I'm not allowed to be apart of 'her' child's life.------
12:55. I get up from the lunch table and throw my plate away.
"I got to get ready for class guys," I say to the group, avoiding looking at Jade.
"What do you have?" Tori asks.
I sneak a look at Jade, to see if she's jealous. She doesn't even blink an eye.
"Umm.... Gym."
"Oh, Jade and I have that too."
Great.-------
"Okay, class! Warm up! Girls, get to the black line and give me a jog!"
I watch Jade like a hawk. She's wearing an oversized Hollywood Arts jersey. Jade must have exchanged her usual tight one for it. The shirt went I her knees, like a dress.
As the girl's begin to do high knees, I watch Jade's shirt, it flops up once, and that's all I need to see.
She has a huge bump.
How long has she been pregnant? How long was she hiding it from me?
"Beck!" Our teacher yells. "I said three laps!"
"Yes ma'am, sorry!" I was too busy thinking about complicated things like being a parent at 17.-------
"Jade West!" I call after her.
She turns around with a whip of her hair. "How many fucking times do I have to tell you that I don't want to talk to you?!"
"Not enough."
"Does this help?" She asks sarcastically. "Beck, angel, I don't want you to be in my life!"
"Jade!" I yell after her, more than a couple people were staring at us now. Dozens of people knew Jade and I were over. She had to make that clear to everybody. Getting my Jade back was going to take a lot of hard work.
But I love her.
So I'll love that child. For her.
"I just have a question or two!" I say.
She huffs and quickly turns around, making me bonk into her. For a second, we stare into each other's eyes. I can read the longing in her eyes, and I'm sure there is the same look in mine. But like I said, it was only for a second.
"Fine, Beck. You have ten seconds to ask me two questions. Only two."
"THANKYOU," I say with a smile.
"Ten," She begins to count down her fingers.
"Okay," I drag her into the janitor's closet.
"Beck!" She yells. "Somebody help me! He's kidnapping me!"
Nobody comes to help.
She shakes herself away from me and crosses her arms.
"First question?" Jade asks impatiently.
"How far along are you? How long have you kept it a secret?"
"That's two questions."
"Jade."
She still only listens to me. "Fine. I'm three months pregnant."
"You're only three months?"
"Yes," She says. "Can you see the bump with this shirt?!"
"No. I just saw the bump in gym."
"Stop staring at me then!" She snaps.
"So? How long have you known?"
Jade sighs and frowns, "I found out when we went to the doctor's in Texas."
"Oh..... That explains a lot."
"So what's your 'second' question?"
"Can I please be apart of this kid's life?"
She huffs, opens the door, and slams it in my face.
I open it and yell after her, "I thought it was a reasonable question!"
"Shut the hell up Beck!"
That's my Jade. Or I guess, there's the old Jade.--------
Jade's POV
"I can't believe him," I say to Tori. She's sitting in the front seat of my car, driving us I the mall. I need more flowy shirts to cover my major baby bump.
"What did he say?"
"Last night, he wanted the baby dead. Today, he wants to be involved in it's life."
"Isn't that good?" Tori asks.
"No. Because I don't want him in my child's life."
"I know you're gonna deny this, Jade," She begins, "but I think you actually do want him in your child's life. And most of all, yours. You're in love with him. He was just shocked last night. Imagine, he thought that you were having a minor problem and then was told he was going to be a Dad."
"I don't care."
She parks the car. "Yes, you do."
And of course she's right.
We walk into the mall and begin to go to different shops, I probably tried on every single flowy shirt in the mall by the time we're finished, and only one made my bump barely showing.
But it's bright pink.
"C'mon Jade! Do you want the whole world to know you're pregnant and bulky and judge you?"
"I'd rather do that then wear pink! I'm not three years old!"
A worker walks up to us and asks if she can offer us any help.
"Yes actually," I say and pull up my shirt. "I need a shirt that will cover up this."
She shakes her head. "Hun, as a mother of three, you should know that you can't cover up a six month pregnant stomach."
"I'm not six months though!" I say. "I'm only three."
She shakes her head. "There is no way you're only three."------
Tori and I arrive at her house about three hours later. Her mom's waiting for us in the kitchen.
"I figured you two wouldn't find anything. Jade, you look bigger than when you left this morning."
I shake my head. "Is this unhealthy? Babies can't be this big at three months, can they? I look five or six months pregnant."
And it's true, I have a huge baby bump. Why?
"Jade, I found these in the attic. When I was about you age, I used to wear really baggy black shirts."
"Let me see," I say, walking over to her. She pushes the box towards me and I look through. "Oh my gosh, you actually had style."
I slip one of the shirts over top of me and look to the side.
"You look like you're three months pregnant."
"Oh my gosh, THANKYOU."--------
