Ch. 2 the struggle

It's been about 3 hours after all the chaos. I found out I don't have a concussion, just a bad hit to the head. Chad payed for the checkup fee.  Now we're walking up the stairs to my apartment. I have to pack up all my things. This is going to be really hard..
"Hey Erin, do you have any suitcases?"
Oh.
"Um..no. When I moved in here I just had my clothes and I just carried them. Sorry..I'm poor.."
"Hey don't get yourself down," he said with a smile and rubbed me on the back. "We can just carry it all down to my car."
I sighed. This is so complicated. And what if he's like..a serial killer or something..? Oh well. I deserve to die.
I could tell he was watching my facial expressions.
"Erin.."
My lip started to quiver and my eyes glazed over. Why do I always cry when I'm stressed out?
"Hey hey, Erin it's going to be alright." He spoke to me with such kind and gentle words. He rubbed his hand on my back, then closing in for a hug. I cried while he hugged me.
"Here, just sit down and I'll carry everything down to my car. Don't worry please."
In between my sobbing, I realized that he could steal all my things right now and leave me homeless. I get up, and start folding my clothes.
"I can h-help." I manage to say.
He just looked at me. He sighed and continued to move my cheap furniture.
"Hey Chad..?"
"Yes?" He started moving towards me from across the room. "What's wrong?"
"Why are you being so nice and supportive to me?"
He pondered for a moment. I noticed he started to twiddle his thumbs.
"Well.." He started slowly. "I don't like seeing pretty girls sad."
I rub my head in frustration.
"I'm not..pre..well..whatever.. Just help me get out of this hell hole!" I snapped. Oh no..I was really mean..
He looked down.
"Chad..sorry I didn't mean to-"
He immediately cuts me off and hugs me tight. No one has hugged me like that since my mom when I left for college.
He pulled away and smiled. "Everything will be okay. Now, let's finish moving.
I couldn't help but smile with him, and we sang songs as we packed and loaded his car up.
