Chapter 16

Katie's P.O.V

I hurried out Roberts car and towards the front door.

I Saw my mom bursting into tears.

She couldn't contain herself.

I saw dad standing there next to my mom.

My sister was on the couch looking down.

I looked at Robert and he stood there as confused and I was.

"What's wrong!" I demanded.

"Katie,"my sister began "come here" she sniffed.

"What happened" I cried "TELL ME!"

"Jerry" she began.

"Jerry ,what is wrong with Jerry, where is Jerry." I screamed.

"Jerry was in a terrible accident ,

He was hit by a drunk driver the car flipped over and Jerry was killed."

I heard the words come out of her mouth and I couldn't believe it.

My heart wanted to burst out of my body.

I felt my stomach flip

Soon my eyes where filled with tears that blocked my sight.

Jerry my own brother dead.

Robert approached to me and hugged me.

"I'm sorry" he whispered in my ear.

His words made me cry harder.

Robert let me go and I saw my mom standing there In front of me.

I looked into her eyes I could see her pain. Jerry had been her only son and she adored him as much as we all did.

My mom hugged me and we both cried in each others arms.

I felt my dad come and join us and soon my sister stepped forward.

"Mom we should head out its time" my sister spoke.

"Time for what?" I questioned.

"Robert will you please take Katie to her room" my mom said.

Robert grabbed my hand to take me but I moved away.

"Time for what" I asked once again.

"Go get some rest for now Katie" my sister said as her and my parents headed out.

I looked at Robert and he took my hand and lead me up the stairs.

As we got up stairs in the first wall there was a picture.

It was Jerry on his high school graduation.

I kept walking and I saw a picture of me and Jerry together.

I felt my heart explode and I fell to the ground in tears.

I had never lost anybody in my family and losing Jerry was the worst feeling ever.

Robert picked me up and carried me to my room.

"We are gonna get through this" Robert told me as he laid me on my bed.

He sat down next to me and I just crawled into a ball hugging the teddy bear Jerry gave me when I was 10.

"Robert" I finally spoke.

"Yes Katie"

"You will never leave me will you"

"No Katie I will never leave you I will always be with you and so will Jerry we will always be together in your heart." Robert finished as he hugged me and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
