Chapter 10 - Goodbye...

2 months later...

It has been 2 months since Sydney went to the hospital. After school me and Nathan would visit her and talk to the doctor if there were any cure to her illness, but everytime we ask he shakes his head and gives us tips on how to prevent it.

*beep* *beep*

my phone vibrated inside my pocket and I immediately picked it up.

"Hello? (Y/n) speaking..." I yawned.

"Hello?! (N/n) go to the hospital quick! Doc has some news for us!" A worried yet hyper voice yelled from the other line.

"What?! Okay coming!!!" I said and ended the call. I grabbed my (f/c) cardigan and put on my (f/c) sandals. I grabbed my phone and shoved it in my pocket. I slammed my door open and rushed out of the house. I ran and ran and... *coughs* and uhh... Ran! Closer and closer to the hospital. Finally I saw a green gate.

"Yes! Made it!" I exclaimed. I walked through the gates and into the hospital. I quickened my pace and saw Sydney's room.

Room 211...

I hate that number now...pff...

I ran inside and revealed Nathan standing next to Sydney's bed. Sydney was asleep silently snoring.

"What's up?" I asked.

"(Y/n).." Nathan whispered hugging me tightly. He sounded like he was crying.

"W-What's wrong?" I asked caressing his hair.

"The d-doctors said... She still has little time to live before she... I can't say it..." He sniffed. I gently tugged on his hair tears starting to form in the corners of my eyes.

"W-we can't lose her... We made a promise to her that we'll face this together! We won't let her end like this!" I screamed tears falling from my face and to the floor. I slowly pulled him off and came closer to Sydney. I held her hand and fell on my knees. I nuzzled my face in the sheets of the bed making weeping noises.

"S-Sydney..." I muttered.

"D-don't leave us..."

"We made a promise remember?"

"Keep fighting..."

"For us please?"

Suddenly the her heart rate increased.

"Nathan call the doctor!" I screamed squeezing Sydney's hand. Nathan without hesitation called the doctor.

"No Sydney keep fighting! Don't leave us!" I screamed tears overflowing in my eyes. The doctors came barging into the room.

"Miss please go outside the room! Staff only!" One of the nurses said. I hesitated at first but eventually gave in for Sydney's sake. I walked out the door and leaned on the wall. Crying my eyes out. Nathan stood beside me crying. The hall was filled with weeping and sobbing noises. After a few minutes of crying the doctor came out with a frown on his face. We immediately ran up to him to hear the news.

"I-I'm sorry... We did the best we can..." He frowned. I covered my mouth with 2 hands and turned my back away from the doctor. Tears ran down my face as I fell to the floor on my knees. Nathan sat on one of the chairs crying while covering his face.

"I can't believe this..." Nathan muttered.

"This can't be..."

"It's just another stupid nightmare... It has to be..."
