Chapter 8

Michael's P.O.V.

I came back from Charlotte's to awkward tension between Vicki and Luke. I could tell he was avoiding her. We were currently the sofa eating pizza while watching Nanny Cam. It was creepy but I could tell I was probably the only one actually paying attention.

"OK guys. I can't handle this anymore. What happened today whilst I was gone? Why are you two avoiding each other?" I asked, frustrated.

"Nothing. Like I said, I went to the mall with Jess!" Vicki argued.

"Don't give me that bull Vic, you know I can't stand it!" my voice was raised at this point.

"OK, you want to know what happened?" Luke began to exclaim in anger, "Yes Victoria did go the mall but guess what happened AT the mall? She met Toby Rivers and he just coincidently decided to be into her and they exchanged phone numbers. Oh, and it just so happens that she's your sister! He obviously knows that, the whole town does Michael!" Luke blared out.

Victoria's P.O.V.

"What the fuck is happening with my life?" I muttered just under my breath but they were both looking at me at this point.

"Vicki-" Michael started but I just cut him off.

"What? What is it? Why do you have to have a bad history with everybody in this neighborhood!? I thought maybe this could be a chance to go somewhere without everyone judging me but obviously not! I can practically breathe without someone pouncing at me for even being near you!" I practically screamed.

"Vicki-" Michael said again but this time sounding more concerned than the last .

"Just forget about it Michael. I'm going for a walk to clear my head," I told them as I stomped my way outside. I found myself in an alley way. I couldn't stop myself. I know it's a disgusting habit but I couldn't help it. It's the only thing that calms me down at times like this.

I reached into my back pocket and grabbed a cigarette from the packet and lit it up. I inhaled it in and then slowly released. Ever time I exhaled, some of the anger that was built up inside of me was being drained out of me. My foot was resting against the wall and my back was not far above it.

"Do they know you smoke?" a voice suddenly said; i'm guessing it was male. I shook my head. The dark figure slowly came into view. It was Calum. Well shit...

"Do you want them to know?" He asks me. Again, I shook my head.

"So," he spoke up, shattering the silence of the night, "what's on your mind?" Calum asked whole-heartedly. So I told him the story. From Jess and Toby to Luke and Michael not missing out even the kiss.

"I'm not sure that I should be the one to tell you the reason why people are the way they are with them two but with me it's a whole different story. People both accuse and blame us for stuff we never did. Most people have forgotten but other keep grudges," he slowly started to fade out so I pulled him into a hug. How could anyone think that Calum did anything wrong? Tho boy is so sweet but life's a bitch sometimes.

"I'm sorry," Calum apologised.

"Stop, it wasn't your fault and they shouldn't think whatever they do about you. Hey, if you ever need anyone to talk to then you know where to find me. Even if its the simplest thing like what to eat for dinner you still come OK?" I reassured him.

"Thank you. You to though. I'm here for you " he said. I just smiled. My eyes gave away the whole act.
