Republic Senate
"Today, the Galaxy, all of its inhabitants and the Galactic Senate itself come together to witness the electoral result, of the Senatorial Election. To all the different creatures and species in attendance today, it is my pleasure to announce that the result of the vote is in. The new leading governmental body will be...The First Order!"
At this announcement, roars of discontent and outrage spread across the room. Among others, tears were shed, and here and there was the occasional smile and whoop. General Hux made his way to the pedestal located at the head of the room. With an intake of breathe, he made his speech.
"SILENCE!" His voice, amplified by the microphone in front of him, reverberated off of the walls, and despite the harsh opposition facing Hux, each and every mouth in the room followed his order.
"Today is not the end of democracy. We, the First Order, despite the common misconception, are not a repeat of the Galactic Empire. In the past, The First Order has been a truly abominable, cruel, unforgiving power that has made some truly terrible mistakes. However now, The First Order believe in peace, and justice in the galaxy, which is something that has unfortunately evaded us all for far too long. The regime under the First Order, and I, Chancellor Hux, will be fair, justiciable, and peaceful." He waited, expecting another roar of disapproval, cries of protest, however the only thing that followed was applause, albeit a hesitant applause, but applause nonetheless. A cruel and victorious smile spread itself across his face, his eyes glowing with pleasure. He then continued, "However, we are faced with just one problem. The war-making Resistance continues to infect the Galaxy. We here at the Senate want peace, but to achieve that, we must undertake one more act of war, and that is to once and for all, eliminate the Resistance."
