Gandereu. A planet of culture, peace and art. The buildings dotted around the city of Nelio had the most elaborate, eccentric and also beautiful designs, which made this planet a major attraction in the galaxy. The Chancellor of Gandereu however, had voted against the First Order in a recent Senate meeting. Looking from his outpost in his luxurious home, the Chancellor overviewed the devastation. A sea of ships had flooded the city's skyline, and a mass amount of destruction came with them. TIE Fighters fired their rockets in any direction, without care of who or what was destroyed in its wake. In a matter of minutes, the grandeur of this city, along with its beautiful scenery was nothing but a mass of rubble, debris, and flames. The Chancellor looked up to the sky, and viewed an oncoming TIE Fighter heading straight for his home. He tried gulping as it came continuously nearer, but he was too choked up. The fighter blasted a rocket towards his building. A mesh or orange and yellow flame pelting its way towards him, was the last image of life he ever had.
Hovering above the planet was a First Order Star Destroyer, which had deployed the TIE Fighters. The leader of this attack was General Hux, however his orders were sent only by hologram, as being on this Star Destroyer ship was far too risky.
"Update me lieutenant." Ordered Hux.
"The Chancellor's home has been hit, the city of Nelio is in complete disarray. It is safe to say that we have successfully seized this city." Replied the Lieutenant.
"Brilliant. Send me a report at the end of the atta-." Hux was interrupted by the lieutenant's sharp intake of breath. "Lieutenant?"
The lieutenant turned back to the hologram of Hux, and proclaimed; "The Resistance! They're here."
And sure enough, visible out of the window was a formation of X & Y Wing ships. The Red Squadron of X Wings were led by Poe. Approaching the Star Destroyer, the ships split into two groups, firing at the huge ship.
"Red Team, move towards the planet, Black Team take down the Star Destroyer!" Ordered Poe.
"We hear you Poe!" Replied a member of the fleet.
The X Wing ships soared down towards the city of Nelio, and opened fire upon the TIE Fighters. The view above the once glamorous city was nothing but warfare. From any stranger visiting the planet, one would assume that the colour of the sky was the colour of fire. Poe's ship glided through oncoming rockets, dodging them as they came from different directions. His radar locked onto a ship straight in front him. With determination, his thumbs pressed down upon the trigger, blasting the small fighter into smithereens. Turning his attention to another fighter on his left, Poe neglected to notice an attack to his right. His ship was hit, however not drastically damaged. He tried communicating with both Black & Red Squadrons, however the impact from the blast on his ship had made his communication faulty.
"Black Team Leader do you copy?" Shouted Poe in desperation. "Black Team Leader! Do you copy?!" He repeated, but to no avail. Circling back around and unloading more fire upon TIE Fighters, he realised that the Red Team had nearly removed all of the TIE Fighters attacking the city. A muffled sound came from his speaker.
"Poe-." However this was followed by a muffled sound, and a bang. Poe banged on his speaker trying to make it work. To Poe's elation, a voice came from it.
"This is Black Team Leader, Poe I'm only the fighter left. The First Order fleet is too strong. You must retreat. I repeat, you must retreat! The Black Squadron has been eliminated. You must retreat-!" An explosion was heard through the speaker, followed by silence.
"Red Team, defence formation. We retreat to the North!" And with that, the remaining X Wings ships raced their way away from the city. The First Order had won this battle.***
Resistance Base
Luke strode backwards and forwards, debating his choices going forward. His mind, despite being here for so many months, was conflicted, confused and far from at peace. His worries about his new trainees, and the torturous past that he had the displeasure of experiencing, spiked his thoughts and mind with sorrow and pain. He watched the Falcon touch down in the docking bay. Finn, Rey, Chewbacca, and to his upmost surprise Maz Kanata, disembarked from the freighter. To his somewhat annoyance, they walked straight towards him.
"Luke Skywalker! It's been a long time." Smiled Maz as she greeted him. Luke didn't respond. Not out of rudeness, but because he didn't know what to say. "Well there's no point dawdling, I'll get straight to my point." Rey and Finn were both still unaware of what actually Maz had planned, and how she was going to help.
"Luke as you are aware, I know the force. I'm familiar with the force. For hundreds of years I had affiliated with the Jedi. I was even blessed with the presence of the great Master Yoda in my time. I watched with awe at the Jedi, and with respect. They were the sole peace keepers of the galaxy stretching far before even my time. The fall of the Jedi in the Great Jedi Purge damaged me internally. The disruption in the force damaged me, and my mentality. The friends I had, were gone. The peace keepers were no more. And that means that there was no peace. Without the Jedi the galaxy was in disarray and disorder, with the shadow of Darkness stretching itself over everything the light once touched. Luke for over 10 years after you disappeared, I made it my goal to search for your lightsaber. There were many stories about the Skywalker lightsaber, and these stories spread around the Galaxy. With you gone, I decided it was time to find out if the rumours of this weapon were true. And sure enough, in the depths of Cloud City, sat your lightsaber, sitting so obviously in the open as though it wanted to be found. Inside me, I could feel the force telling me that this lightsaber was the key to unlocking the mystery of the disappearance of Luke Skywalker. I knew that it would bring you back. The lightsaber called to Rey, and sure enough she managed to bring you back. I didn't do years of research of your whereabouts when you lost that saber, and years of travelling trying to find it, for you to just give up on your attempts at reestablishing a Jedi Order. This galaxy NEEDS the Jedi. We need a Jedi Order otherwise the First Order and the Dark Side will forever have a strong presence." She offered out her hand to Luke, and he took it. "I have something to show you." She turned her head towards Rey & Finn, "ALL of you."***
Galactic Republic Senate
"Chancellors, Senators, Monarchs and other representatives. We of the Senate of the Galactic Republic have agreed on an election. We of the Galactic Republic believe that in this time of hardship for the government, an election will bring about change and a clear way forward. This decision will ensure prosperity, leadership, and stability to the government and the galaxy!" Roared the Speaker. An encirclement of applause surrounded him. That was however, until a large bang was heard from the entrance to the rotund Senate Chamber. All heads turned in the direction of the entrance, and the door was blasted down. A mass of Stormtroopers stormed the building, pointing their blasters towards the members of the Senate. Following behind was General Hux, who strutted in with confidence and a sense of smugness. He walked towards the centre of the room. Around him were confused, scared and even furious faces. To the happiness of Hux, there were a few relieved faces too.
"Good afternoon! My name is General Hux, General of the First Order! With all due respect to the Galactic Senate, I vote against the proposition of a new governmental election. In fact..." He turned towards the Strormtroopers, "The new government has already arrived."
