~Fëlîx Pøv~

My sweet little innocent tiny beautiful mate is Queen Rachel's child. She is of royal descent. She is the next heir to the throne. She's also the last one with blue blood, that means she's the biggest target for the immortal wolves.

I did my homework, there's more than just one immortal Alpha -there's even a whole pack!- and they've all been preying on Jess's family. She's the last blue blood.

I have to protect her and our future offspring. She's the next Queen and I'm the next King, I have to be with her at all times. She's weak, another reason why she needs me.

"Felix, what do we do?" Jess whispered, snuggling up to my side. Her body was cold, slowly warming up from the warmth of my body. I wrapped one arm around her as her eyelids fluttered.

"I'll figure it out, baby, get some sleep." It's been three days since she left the infirmary and she's making a progressive recovery. She's not as skinny as before, she's got more colour to her skin, and she's happier.

She yawned and a cute little moan left her mouth. I chuckled as she shuffled around and tangled up her legs with mine. In the end, she just flopped on top of me and fell asleep with drool hanging from her bottom lip. My wolf purred as he pushed all sorts of scenarios in my head, most of them making our mate scream out my name in pleasure.

I tensed as Jess pushed her hips on me, moaning slightly. She's still asleep, right? Yep. Squeezing my eyes shut, I tightened my arms around her waist. Placing a kiss on her hair, I shoved my nose in the crook of her neck. After a while she stopped making noises and wiggling on me.

I rolled over, gently laying my little mate's head on the pillow, and hovered over her. God, she's so beautiful. I kissed her lips, then along her jawline to the dip in her neck where she'd bare my mark. I sucked on it, moaning as she whimpered.

Damnit Felix, don't take advantage of her when she's asleep! Romeo snarled in my head and I sighed, pulling my lips away reluctantly. He's right.
When am I wrong? He bit back, being the irritating jerk he is.

"Alpha! There's a rogue at the border!" Jamie burst into my bedroom, flustered from running up the stairs. I nodded once and took one look at my mate before pulling away from her. She let out a cry and I felt my heart ache. I can't leave her alone...

Tugging my top over my head, I quickly slipped it over her head and wrapped her in the duvet. A smile graced her face as she inhaled my scent. I checked the window, seeing it was locked, then the bathroom window. Rushing out, I locked the door behind me and ordered two warriors to guard the room, to guard their Luna.

Letting out a roar, I shifted and bounded through the house to the back door where wolves were running out of. They followed me as I lead them to the rogue. It may be one rogue but I'm not going to take precautions, my mate lives in this territory now.

Jamie galloped alongside me, tongue lolling out of his mouth. I snorted and rolled my eyes. He is such a dog. He raced me to the border, howling as a warning to the lone wolf. I smelt the unfamiliar scent, it was faint but still there.

I'll get this rogue, I'll show no mercy. My mate will be protected, no one shall lay a hand on her or so God help me I'll rip their throat out with my teeth. Jess will come to no harm, over my dead body.
