The next morning, I wore a white, red, and blue plaid long sleeve shirt with a white undershirt, black jeans and converse shoes. I ate breakfast, fed Keido, left her in the backyard and went off to school. Chris sent me a text earlier in the morning, saying that he'll be gone for two or three days due to the mission he had yesterday.
Well, that explains why he didn't come home yesterday.
I arrived at school and walked through the entrance. Once I entered, I immediately saw Mary talking to another girl. The girl was wearing a hoodie that was styled like Danganronpa's Monokuma, jeans, and blue converse shoes. She had long brown hair, which was let down, and she was about my height. As I approach them, Mary notices and waves at me.
"Hey Claire!" she said. "This is Ruth. Ruth, this is Claire."
I held out my right hand to do a handshake with her. She smiled and slowly reached out for my hand. I could tell she was shy. Though, knowing people, she probably won't be timid for long. Not that that's a bad thing.
"Hey Ruth." I said, letting go of her hand. "I've heard so much about you from Mary."
"Oh, God, what did you tell her, senpai?" she panicked, asking Mary.
Did she just call Mary senpai?
"Relax, my kouhai, I said nothing." Mary told Ruth. "I just told Claire that both of you have to meet."
I've always known that Mary loves anime. Though, she's never acted like this before. It was interesting, to say the least. I stared blankly at them, and Mary noticed.
"Oh, don't worry, Claire. We act like this to mock weeaboos." she said, while Ruth nodded, agreeing with her. "Though, I only act like this with her."
"Yep. Weeaboos are a force to be reckoned with." Ruth said, earning a light laugh from me. She acted like a cute little girl.
"Well, Ruth, the satire of a weeaboo, it's nice to meet you." I smiled at her. We then began to walk to our classrooms. While walking, I learned that Ruth is in Paula's class, and that they're friends as well. After a couple of minutes walking up the stairs, we stood in front of our classrooms.
"Hey, Ruth, you should join us in lunch." I said smiling, facing Ruth. "I'd love to get to know you better."
"Really?" she said, her eyes lighting up. "Sure! I'd like that! We can plan our attack on the weeaboos."
I laughed at her comment. "Great! See you then." I said, as Mary and I walked into our classroom.
Though our classes were filled with lectures and activities, they went by pretty fast. I noticed that both Axel and Vince were absent.
Thank the Lord, Almighty God.
During lunch, Mary and I sat at our usual spot, waiting for Paula and Ruth. They both arrived with their lunches soon enough, then I began talking to Ruth.
"So, Ruth, I see you like anime." I said, starting up a conversation.
"Yep. I love video games as well." she replied.
"Really? On what platform?"
"PS4 and PC."
"Oh, we're gonna be great friends." I said, smiling. We continued talking about random things, and I notice Mary and Paula smiling at us from the corner of my eye. I learned a lot of things about her. She has a little brother in our 1st year high school, her favourite colour's chartreuse, she's in the anime club, she's more of a cat person, and that she's friends with Henry Carter, a guy from my class. As if on cue, Henry stood beside our table.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear.
"Hey, Henry." I greeted him. "What do you need?"
"Hey, Claire." he said. "I was just looking for Ruth. Mind if I sit with you guys?" I turned to Paula and Mary, and they said they didn't mind.
"Oh, we don't mind. Here, have a seat." I said as I gestured the space beside Ruth.
Henry was my friend ever since last year, when Mary introduced him to Paula and I. He had long and straight black hair, blue eyes, and was tall. I played video games with him before, and we're close enough to be considered as friends. He's a nice person, slightly weird. He almost always hangs out with Ruth. Though, he's also the target of Mary's, and Ruth's aggressive form of jokes. They were harmless jokes though, even Henry knew that.
"Ew, no, I don't want that thing sitting beside me!" Ruth said, jokingly. He stared at her for a few seconds.
"Okay." he said, as he sat down anyway. We then continued to talk to each other while eating.
"So, Claire. How was your tutoring session with Axel?" Paula asked, gaining the attention of everyone on the table.
"Uh, it was..." I started to say, recalling what happened the previous day. "Interesting. To say the least."
"Interesting how?" Mary asked, raising an eyebrow.
"After teaching him the lessons and everything, I gave him a test." I said. "Though, I only placed two questions on there, he got everything right. And he did so without me helping him, nor did I have to wait long."
They looked at me, slightly surprised. A few seconds of silence passed until Ruth decided to speak.
"You had to tutor Axel Beckett?" she asked, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"Yeah, he's not doing so well in Physics, apparently." I said.
"Did he try anything?" Mary asked. I looked back into yesterday morning, when Axel decided to mess with me.
"Well, yeah, but I took care of it." I said. I didn't mention the fact that he blocked my knee, even if I didn't use my full strength. I wasn't lying to Mary. "Let's not talk about it."
Mary and Paula nodded, deciding to let it slide. Then, I felt a presence looming behind me, as all four of my friends turned to see who it was.
