I woke up with Keido sleeping on her usual spot, at the foot of my bed. Seeing as it was still dark out, I checked to see what time it was.

5:30 AM. I have to get ready for school.

I got out of bed, without waking Keido, and walked to my closet. I got out of my pyjamas, and wore a yellow stripped shirt, black jeans, black converse shoes, and a gray beanie. I placed my pyjamas in the laundry basket and closed the closet. I turned around and saw Keido staring at me.

"Uh. Hey, girl. Sorry for waking you up." I said, scratching her head. "Let's get you something to eat."

Keido got out of my bed and followed me out of my room. I closed the door and walked downstairs to the kitchen. Once we entered the kitchen, I was hit by the smell of bacon. No wonder Keido was restless. On the dining table, there were pancakes, bacon and eggs on plates, and bacon-flavoured treats for Keido. There was a note as well.

Hey, Claire. I got home late yesterday, sorry about that. I also have to leave early today due to a mission, so I cooked breakfast for you and got some treats for Keido. The time's 5:25, so you should be waking up in a few minutes. Orange juice is in the fridge. Make sure to lock up properly and don't forget to leave Keido in the backyard. Love ya. ~Chris

I smiled as I folded the note and threw it in the trash can. Chris can go from a really sweet big brother, to someone who's as threatening as Batman. I walked towards the cabinet where Keido's food bowl and dog food are at, and got them out. I placed the meat that Chris made for Keido in her food bowl and mixed in some dog food, and placed it on the floor. Keido began eating. I returned the dog food in the cabinet, and got myself a glass of orange juice and ate.

------

I arrived at school an hour early. Assemblies are only conducted during Mondays, so I walked straight to my classroom. I was the first to arrive, so I decided to take a nap while waiting. Mary would wake me up when she arrives anyway, so I dozed off.

I was awoken by someone poking my left side, though I was ticklish there so I jolted awake.

"Jesus, Mary, you know how ticklish I am!" I said, rubbing my eyes. The person, who I assumed was Mary, then started laughing hard.

Wait a minute. That doesn't sound like Mary...

I opened my eyes to see Axel laughing hard. He was wearing a dark leather hoodie, a maroon shirt, jeans, and gray converse shoes.

I was surprised and pissed that he interrupted my sleep. No use getting it back now..

"Oh, God! You should've seen your face!" he said while laughing hard. "And that squeal!" he continued laughing. I sat back down and rest my head on my right index finger and thumb.

"Why're you messing with me?" I calmly asked, looking back at him.

"Just 'cuz." he said, smirking, after he stopped laughing. I sighed. I checked my phone for the time. It's only been 5 minutes. I'm gonna be stuck with him for a while.

"Seeing as we have about 55 minutes before our first class, why don't we start studying Physics?" I suggested.

"Boring." he replied, and I just raised an eyebrow at him.

"Alright, I'll just listen to my music then." I said.

"Nope." he said

"Why not?"

"Because I said so."

"You can't tell me what to do."

"Watch me." he said, as he took my light blue Skullcandy headphones. I sighed, and got up from my seat.

"May I please have my headphones back?" I said annoyed, walking towards him.

"Nope." he replied.

"Please?"

"Nope."

"You asked for this..." I sighed. I tried to knee him, but he caught my knee with his hand before it hit his stomach.

"What the fuck?" I said. I was surprised, he had good reflexes. I moved my knee away and backed up slightly.

"Woo, strong hit." he said, shaking his left hand and smirking. "Here you go." he handed me my headphones.

"After all that, you were just going to give it to me?" I said as I reached out and got it slowly.

"Mhm." he replied. After that fiasco, I felt the need to be more cautious around this guy.

"What are you planning, Axel?" I asked the question that's been haunting my mind. He can't possibly be talking to me for no reason.

"Nothing, Townsend." he replied, smiling. He walked away from me, sat at his seat, and waved. "Just being your friendly classmate."

This can't possibly be good.

-------

It was now dismissal. I had to tutor Axel. During lunch, I didn't mention the incident with Axel to my friends. I can handle this on my own.

Hopefully.

I entered the library and immediately saw Axel smiling and waving at me. There were only a few students in the library since everyone's going home at this time. I walked over to where Axel was sitting and sat beside him.

"Hey, Townsend. Fancy meeting you here." Axel said, smirking.

"I didn't peg you for the facial expression type." I muttered under my breath.

"What was that?" he asked.

"Nothing, let's get this over with." I said. Then, I got out my notebook and started teaching him. All the while he seemed to be listening. I hope he was listening. It'll be on ME if he doesn't do well again.

After teaching, I breathed a sigh of relief. He was quiet during the whole lecture. I decided to give him a test that I prepared the day before, after jogging with Keido.

"A test?" he said as he frowned.

"Yeah, so I can tell if you really listened to me or not." I replied, giving him the test paper.

"You wound me, have you no faith?" he pouted. It was kind of cute actually.

"Bingo." I replied, smiling. "Now answer the test."

He muttered something under his breath, but I just kept on smiling sweetly at him. He began solving the problems. I placed two hard questions about the topic.

There was no way he was go-

"Done." he said interrupting my thoughts, as he placed the paper in front of me. I raised an eyebrow at him, and he just smirked. Then, I began checking the test that he just answered. I stared in awe at the paper. He got everything right. From the given items, formulas, solutions, down to the final answer. On both numbers. And on top of that, I didn't even have to wait long for him to finish. Then again, maybe I should've made it five questions.

Still, what the actual fuck?

"Wow, Axel..." I was at a loss for words. "This is just.." I was feeling a mix of happiness, bewilderment, and anxiety.

"Awesome?" he said, finishing my sentence, while I was just staring at the test paper. "I know, I'm amazing. Though, you could've added more questions."

On normal circumstances, I would've rebutted that statement, but the situation just proved his statement to be true. I probably inflated his ego even more, but I can't help it. I was speechless.

"You know..." he started to say, shifting my attention to him. "You're a better teacher than you let on." he said, winking.

What was that supposed to mean? Did he really mean that? Or did he mean something else entirely? One thing was for certain though.

Axel Beckett is confusing as hell.
