After the talk with Axel, my friends and I resumed our original conversation till the school bell signalled the end of lunch. The rest of our classmates began filling into the classroom. Paula took that as a cue to return to her classroom. Three more boring classes later, the bell mercifully rang, signifying that school was over for the day.

Thank God.

Paula, Mary, and I headed towards the exit. Davina had to stay behind because she was part of the student council and they were planning upcoming school events. We exited the school building and head towards Mary's car, which was a pastel pink 1965 Volkswagen Beetle. She appreciates older cars. I, in turn, appreciate the more modern ones. We're opposites but we get along really well. Though, I don't have a license yet, so I can't drive.

Mary started the car and bent the seat for Paula so she could sit at the back. I was about to get in but was stopped by a certain inescapable annoyance with dark-brown hair. I must've done something monumentally shitty in my past life for me to experience this cruel punishment.

"Hey Claire!" he said, while I just cocked an eyebrow at him. "Right, straight to the point. You're tutoring Beckett right?"

I looked at him, stunned. How the hell did he know?

"Ms. Sarah told me during lunch. Asking if she did the right thing." he said, as if reading my mind.

"Alright. What does that have to do with anything?" I asked. He then looked at me with a serious face.

"You should stay away from him." he said. "You know what people say about him. He's a violent heartbreaker. He's fully capable of hurting you."

I laughed at the irony. I couldn't even contain it. He gave me a confused look.

"That's hilarious coming from you." I said, still laughing. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll go now before I hear any more of your shit."

I got in Mary's car and we drove off. A few minutes later, Mary asked about my little encounter.

"So what was that about?" she asked.

"He told me to stay away from Axel." I chuckled a bit. "Saying how he was a violent heartbreaker."

"Seriously? That's ironic." Paula said, with a laugh.

"I know right."

"Hey, Claire. Knock knock." Mary said, changing the subject.

"Who's there?" I said, playing along.

"Iodide."

"Iodide who?"

"Iodide everyday waiting for you!" she sang, finishing the joke. Paula was laughing and I was cringing. "Darling don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years!"

Mary continued singing, and soon all three of us were singing for the rest of the car ride. I should mention Paula lives next door, so she's my neighbour while Mary lived a couple blocks down the street from us. Mary stopped in between mine and Paula's houses, so we got out of her car at our stop.

Paula and I say goodbye to Mary as she drove off.

"Say Paula, do you have anything to do?" I asked. "Like homework?"

"Nope. I'm free today." She replied. "Why do you ask?"

"I was thinking of going to the park to do some jogging with Keido." I answered. "Wanna come?"

"Sure! I'll go get ready!" she said as she sprinted towards her house. I smiled at her.

I walked to my door, unlocking it with my key, and went inside. Our house was fairly large. It was big enough for Chris, Keido, and I. Once you enter, there are stairs on the right, leading to my brother's and my rooms, a gaming room, a bathroom for guests, and a storage room. On the left, there's the living room. Two couches, a coffee table with flowers in a vase, and a 32 inch flat screen TV can be found there, complete with a carpet. The kitchen and the dining room were further in, having a table which can fit 6 people, white tiles, and a sliding door leading to the backyard. White wallpaper was dominant, given the fact that my mom likes the colour.

I went upstairs to my room to get changed. I entered my room, closed the door, and walked to my wardrobe closet.

My room had blue wallpaper, and I placed Marvel, DC, anime, and band posters on the walls. I had my own bathroom, as did Chris. I also had a desk where my desktop computer is at. It's where I do my homework. And finally, across my bed, is where my guitar was hanging. It was a black and blue Dean Playmate acoustic guitar. I play a bit, and I do some covers as well in some of my free time. Otherwise, I'd just play games on the PS4 such as Mortal Kombat X and other titles.

I removed my clothes and changed into my usual clothes for exercising, which consists of a white ¾ hoodie, a blue tank top, blue fingerless gloves, black cropped leggings, and white rubber shoes with blue stripes. I wear gloves so my hand won't get a leash burn when holding Keido's leash in case she decides to run amok.

Keido is our black and white pet Siberian Husky, with blue eyes. She's two years old and she's been with me and Chris since she was a puppy.

After changing, I left my room, and went to the storage room to get Keido's leash, and walked downstairs into the backyard. Keido then ran towards me, almost knocking me down in the process.

"Hey, girl! Let's go for a walk!" I said, rubbing Keido's head. She barked in response. I, then, hooked the leash on her collar. Before we head off, I locked the sliding door again and walked towards the right gate that was keeping Keido from running away. I opened it and walked out of the backyard, locking the gate.

I then saw Paula on the sidewalk, waiting for us. She was wearing a black cap, blue long sleeves, black leggings and white rubber shoes. I smiled then walked towards her with Keido.

"Hey, Keido! How's my favourite doggy?" Paula said, hugging Keido. Keido looked at her with her tongue hanging. She actually likes Paula more than Chris.

"So, shall we go?" Paula asked, turning to me.

"We shall." I replied. All three of us then jogged to the park. We got there in a couple of minutes. There were kids playing with their parents, boys about our age in the skating, and people walking their dogs. After a few laps around the park with Paula and Keido, we sat down on a bench to rest and hydrate.

"So, Axel. How was he like?" Paula asked. I didn't really elaborate on me and Axel's conversation when I got back to my friends a little while ago.

"He acted like a conceited prick." I said flatly, and she chuckled. "But it's strange."

"What is?" she asked, turning to look at me.

"How he changed his mind about tutoring." I replied. "Hopefully it won't take weeks to tutor him." Paula nodded at this.

"He's pretty handsome though, you gotta admit." Paula said, smiling.

"Honestly, I can't argue with that." I said. "He still acts like a prick, though. I have zero trust in him."

"Yeah, you shouldn't trust him off the bat." Paula agreed. "But, he may be a good person underneath all that...uh. Egotism."

"I still don't trust him." I remarked. "Though, I'll keep what you said in mind."

We stayed there, talking about random things. The sun was setting so we decided to head back. Keido seemed like she's had enough exercise. We got home, and I waved goodbye to Paula before going in the house.
