Thigh Gaps

THIGH GAPS: A thigh gap is a gap between your thighs when you are standing up straight with your feet together.

Thigh gaps. Ahh, where to begin? Let me just start by saying I honestly don't understand why so many girls are obsessing over this. It's just a thigh gap, it doesn't make your any smarter or any prettier. It's just a gap between your thighs.

But the thing is there are some girls out there who are STARVING themselves just to achieve this new hot "trend"! But newsflash, not everyone can have one because even if you are really skinny, it honestly depends on your hip structure. There all thousands of skinny girls out there who don't have a thigh gap, but does that make them any uglier? Of course not!

I mean if you have one that's great! Go forth and be proud of it! But all I'm trying to say here is that if you're unhappy with yourself now, why do you believe a thigh gap will make it all better? I've seen girls who believe that they won't be beautiful until they have one. It's amazing just how powerful the media is these days. They have control over our opinion of ourselves, what to wear, how to wear it. Heck, if you're not what the media "likes" then apparently you're not considered beautiful.

If you Google hottest trend right now guess what shows up? You guessed it! Thigh gaps! Hundreds of girls asking how do you get one? Exercises that "prove" to give you a thigh gap. It's everywhere! It's all over Tumblr, magazines, it has spread like wild fire.

Being skinny is such a big thing nowadays. Everyone wants to be skinny! And because of this, thigh gaps have come into the picture. I mean, what's next? Hip bones? I'm not trying to say that if you have a thigh gap you're anorexic, but it doesn't mean it's not triggering. I mean once you see the numbers start going down, you begin to want it to go lower.

You don't need a thigh gap. You don't just 'have to have it'. Don't go to such drastic actions just to get something that won't exactly do anything. Think of it like collar bones. Does it really matter if people can see them? Does it really change anything about yourself? (Besides the fact that you now have it). I mean, just how does it benefit you?

You're beautiful just the way you are, and next time you look in the mirror and say "Oh I wish I had a thigh gap" look at yourself OVERALL. Appreciate what you have and treasure it. Don't let society be the judge of you. It's your body so your rules.
