Hate On Idols

HATE ON IDOLS: Hate on idols is when hatred and disrespect is placed upon idols; very famous and popular people.

So there you are, scrolling through the internet stalking your favourite singer and then BAM! You see it. A hate comment, but not just any hate comment. This comment is so hurtful that all you want to do is just slap that person, hard.

I don't understand how some people can just use the word hate so easily. They say they hate people, things, colours, clothes, e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. But do they even know what it means? Well let me give you a definition courtesy of Dictionary.com.

Hate: [heyt] verb, hat·ed, hat·ing, noun

To dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest.

There. Now you know what it means. So tell me, do you really hate that person? Do you hate them so much that nothing would make you happier but to see them die? I saw a quote once online, as one does when looking at quotes, and I read this quote about hatred. I may not remember it word-to-word but it was something like...

"No man should ever deserve the true hatred of other man"

And that got me thinking. The quote is right. I know for I fact that I like being liked, so I would never want someone to hate me. Would you? No, so why do you hate on other people. Especially people who have worked their butt off to get to where they are now.

So this brings me to my next point on this, hatred on idols. Idols are famous people who a recongised by thousands, or many millions, of people. They have some sort of talent or just have a lot of money, and are recongised by it. But the amount of hate these people get...wow. Just wow.

The hate mail, the dislikes, the comments on Youtube and Facebook, the magazine articles. So much hate on a single person, and they don't even really know the person! All they know is what they hear and what they've seen. Seriously, all they have to do is Google their name and it's all there. But then there are always their fans who will protect them and support them, just like they would to a friend or a family member.

To the fans, this person is someone who they look up to, someone who has been through hell and come back alive, someone who they may even see as perfect. But then someone comes and says hate about them and that hurts so many people. This is the person they look up to, praise even. We all need someone to look up to, to guide us and show us that it's OK to be different and that no matter what you're going through, you'll be OK. Why? Because these people have gone through some pretty bad stuff and they show that the world that it will be OK, because if they could make it, so could you.

There are people out there need these people. Their only joy in their day might be watching a movie they're in, or listening to a song they sung. Nobody likes to be told your role model is a piece of *CENSORED*. Nobody. But that doesn't mean it still doesn't happen, because it does.

So why don't you stop hating on these people and take a good look at yourself. Why are you doing this? Who will this affect? And, will saying that actually benefit you in anyway? Because it won't. All that will do is hurt, God knows, how many people.

So let that person believe in who they want to, even if you don't agree with what their idol may be doing. Sure you have an opinion, and you have a right to say it, but there is a time, place and way of saying everything. So please, think before you speak. Those people have so many supporters for a reason
