Chapter Three: Cliched Casts
CLICHED CAST: A cliched cast is when a group of over-done and overly-used characters are conjoined together into a story, movie, play, etc.
Ahhh where to begin... AH! There! Cliched casts have got to be one of the biggest problems here on Wattpad (besides 1D fanfics *shudders* I'm joking relax! Please don't kill me!) But then again, when you make a website that has 99.9% of young teenage girl writers there's bound to be SOME cliches...some. *coughs* Bad boy.
I mean I'm not trying to be mean here and hate on every single person who has a cliched character because I'll be honest. It's hard to think of something completely new and interesting story that will actually interest people. I mean I think everyone has a least one cliched character, or scene/moment or even plot, I know I do.
But the key here is *key shows up shining extravagantly* you have to be original with it as well! Get what I mean? No? ...OK...I'll just go now :( *walks to corner and starts crying* Jokes! Let me explain myself, what I mean is if you're using a cliched character add your own twist to it...and please, a twist that hasn't been done like a hundred times. Please just...don't. Don't do it, don't consider it, don't even think about doing it!
Same goes with a cliched scene/moment. Add your own twist to it! Sure it can be cliched it a sense but maybe add a scene of reality to it, like what would really happen in that situation. Get where I'm coming from? Oh! And don't do the whole "just say something random because it'll seem realistic and funny" thing. =_= That is one of the worst things you could ever do. Not only does it not make sense, but most of the time it isn't even funny. Sure the person can say something and it doesn't come out right, but it has to at least connect with the conversation they were originally having in some way.
As for the cliched plot.... burn it and be done with it.
Seriously.
Kill it with fire.

OK I'm joking....kind of....kind of. Cliched plots are...OK in a sense but a lot of people will be bored with it because it's extremely "been there, done that". Sure you can add your own twist and all but in the end, every story will finish the same. But don't get me wrong! There are some cliched stories out there that a written exceedingly well and honestly blow your socks off (even if you aren't wearing any socks...o.o), but then there are other stories out there that just...*sighs* how can I put this nicely? They make me want to stab someone...to be it nicely.
Jokes! They don't always make me want to stab someone...not always. But I guess what the main thing I'm trying to say here is be original in what you write, even if it's a cliched original. I know that doesn't really make sense but it kind of does...in a small special way.
