Chapter 8

Hours later Toby came back from the pie shop with Sweeney holding her in his arms. "You found out." Sweeney asked. "Yes." Toby answered more soothingly now that he had calm down. "You didn't tell the law did you?" Sweeney asked. "Of course not, for mum's sake." Toby answered. "Y-you still love me?" Nellie asked lifting her teary eyes from Sweeney's chest. "Oh mum!" Toby exclaimed putting her hand in his and stroking her knuckles.

"I've never stopped loving you. Your my mum. I'll always love you. No matter what." Toby said. Toby embraced Nellie and started to sing.

"Nothin's gonna harm you not while I'm around. Nothin's gonna harm you no sir not while I'm around." Toby sang. Nellie fell asleep and Sweeney carried Nellie to her room. Toby kissed her on the forehead. "I love you mum, with all me heart." Said Toby. Sweeney gave Toby a pat on the shoulder. "Your a good lad Toby." Sweeney said. "Thank you sir." Toby said going off to bed.

Sweeney put Nellie in his arms. Man he loved this baker. She was a bloody wonder but that was what Sweeney adored most about her. He kissed her on the forehead. "Sleep well my angel." Sweeney whispered closing his eyes.

Nellie woke up shaking from the trauma of last night. She couldn't believe what happened last night. Toby found out what she does to the pies. She started crying again. "Nell, calm down please Toby still loves you very much." Sweeney said. "I wish he didn't know, but the thought of not being able to tell him that killed me." Nellie said crying. "Oh Nell, don't worry you will be alright." Said Sweeney. "Alright I'm going out to the kitchen." Nellie said. "Morning mum!" Toby exclaimed with joy hugging her waist. "Morning my love." Nellie said kissing Toby's cheek. "Are you alright after what happened last night?" Toby asked. "I'm still praying you'll love me dear." Nellie said. "Mum, I love you." Toby said. "Always?" Nellie asked. "Of course!" Said Toby throwing his arms around tightly around her waist.

"Oh, love, thank you." Nellie said kissing his cheek. "I'd do anything for you mum." Toby said smiling sweetly at her and pulling Nellie's heart strings. Nellie came down to Toby's level and embraced him tightly into her chest. "I love you so much Toby. More than you know." Nellie said. Toby smiled sweetly at her. She was everything to him, and no matter what she did, Toby would always forgive  her.

"Well, I hope your hungry, breakfast is on the table." Nellie said kissing Toby on the cheek. Toby's eyes gleamed with joy. How that boy loved his food. He didn't eat a pie though, Nellie had made pancakes.

"Johanna and I plan to leave sometime this week. We don't know when." Anthony said. "I thought you said this evening." Johanna said. "Oh yes! How could I be so forgetful!" Anthony said. "Johanna laughed. "It's alright Anthony." Johanna said.

Nellie giggled. "Alright, do you two need me to help with anything for the trip tonight?" Nellie asked. "That would be wonderful thank you!" Anthony exclaimed with joy. "Of course." Nellie said.

Nellie helped Anthony and Johanna pack for their trip to America. "Thank you for all you've done." Johanna said. "Your welcome love." Nellie said kissing Johanna on her forehead. "Goodbye daddy." Johanna said kissing her father on the cheek. "Goodbye my little dove." Sweeney said kissing Johanna on the cheek. Nellie squeezed Sweeney's hand tightly.

"Let's go home." Nellie said. Sweeney and Toby went home with Nellie. Nellie had put Toby to bed with a lullaby. "I love you Toby dear." Nellie whispered. "Goodnight love." "Is Toby asleep?" Sweeney asked. "Yes." Nellie answered.

Sweeney led Nellie to her room. Nellie changed into her nighty and came out of the bathroom. Sweeney's shirt was off, for he just slept in his day pants. Nellie yawned. "Are you tired Nell?" Sweeney asked. Nellie nodded. "Yes." Nellie answered. Nellie climbed into her bed next to Sweeney and laid in his chest. Sweeney kissed her on the forehead. "Sleep well my love." Sweeney said.
