Chapter 2

Waking up Nellie's vision blurred but she could see a boy. It was Toby. Her special little boy. "Mum, how did you sleep?" Toby asked with her hand in his. "I slept just fine, love." Nellie answered softly. "I 'eard you cryin'. Are you feeling alright?" Asked Toby. "Oh, Toby I didn't mean for you to hear that, I- I'm so sorry." Nellie said. "Mum, please, you don't 'ave to hide your cries." Said Toby once again pulling at her heart strings. Nellie sat herself up on the bed and pulled Toby on it to sit down and lay his head on her chest. "Your a little angel ya know." Nellie said stroking his hair. "Your the angel mum." Toby said going closer in the embrace. With this Nellie could only smile sweetly at him. "Well, wot do ya say to 'helpin' me with breakfast?" Nellie asked. "Yes mum!" Toby exclaimed with joy. Nellie rolled her eyes playfully as Toby rushed out the bedroom door.

"Oh, that boy just loves to help." Nellie thought to herself making her giggle. Nellie got herself off the bed and got dressed. "Ready mum?!" Toby called. Nellie laughed. "I'm comin' love! Please give me a minute!" Nellie replied.

Johanna was running down the stairs. Turpin was gone, she hated the man yet was concerned. "Sir, where is my lord?" Johanna asked. Beadle came over to Johanna. "I don't know. He said he'd be back at dark yesterday." Beadle answered. "Stay here, and wait for my return." Beadle said firmly heading for Mrs. Lovett's pie shop.

Back at the pie shop Nellie took out her pies and was ready to open. Toby smiled proudly as he changed the closed sign to open. Once done Beadle rushed through the door. "Where is Todd?!!" Beadle barked sharply. Nellie took a step back. "Urm......upstairs.....w-why?" Nellie asked nervously. "I'll just force you to tell." Beadle said sharply heading over to Mrs. Lovett with a knife in his hand. "MR. TODD!!!" Toby called. Sweeney heard Toby's call and came rushing downstairs. "Beadle." Sweeney said faking a smile.

Beadle smiled devilishly whilst pulling his hat down a little to say hello. "Get. Out." Sweeney said firmly. "Ah, ah, ah, one move, and she gets a slit to the throat. Meaning all of you." Beadle said sharply. Sweeney could feel tears coming in his eyes. He loved the bloody wondered baker so much, just couldn't admit it to her. He couldn't risk losing her like he lost his Lucy. Not now. Not ever.

Sweeney winked at Toby for he was behind Beadle and Toby got the message. Toby tip toes behind Beadle, and.........POUNCE!!! Toby pulled Beadle back not caring if he broke the tiniest bone in his body. Beadle tried to get free but Toby was a smart lad. He knew how to keep him where he was. He knew well.

Sweeney walked over to Beadle with his razor in his hand and with no hesitation slit the Beadle's throat careful not to hurt Toby, for if he did, Nellie would slit his throat.

Sweeney's eyes were directed at Nellie who now was curled up in a ball and crying. Sweeney couldn't bear to see her like this.

Sweeney scooped up Nellie and carried her bridal style to her room.

Placing himself on the bed, Sweeney wrapped Nellie up in his arms while she was crying in his chest. "Sshh, it's alright pet, I'm here. Please relax. Please, just try to calm down." Sweeney whispered into her soft auburn hair whilst rubbing up and down her back. Nellie was so scared she was shaking now. "Toby!" Sweeney called. "Is she alright?!" Toby asked in horror. "She'll be fine just please go get a blanket!" Sweeney barked. He didn't want to frighten the boy, but when he was in a panic, who's knows what reaction someone will get. Toby came back with and blanket and he and Sweeney wrapped it around Nellie. Toby could feel her body shaking. Tears started to form in his pretty little eyes. "Toby?" Nellie asked. "Mum!" Toby exclaimed relieved to hear her soft voice. "Come 'ere." Nellie whispered pulling him into an embrace. She could feel Toby crying into her chest. "Oh love, please don't cry my darlin'." Nellie whispered into his hair.

"Nothin's gonna harm you, not while I'm around. Nothing''s gonna harm you no, sir not while I'm around." Toby started.

"Demons are prowlin' everywhere nowadays. I'll send 'em howlin' I don't care, I've got ways. No one's gonna hurt you, no one's gonna dare. Others can desert you not to worry whistle il be there. Demons will charm you with a smile, for a while, but in time, nothing can harm you, not while I'm around." Toby sang. With that Nellie fell asleep and laid down.

Toby kissed her on the forehead goodnight. Once Toby was out of the room Sweeney did the same thing. He planned on telling Nellie about his feelings for her...but when?
