Moving Day"Why do you have to go Charlie?"
Moving Day. The day both Patrick and Charlie had been hoping would never, ever arrive. And no amount of begging, bargaining or trickery could stop that day from coming.
And believe me, they tried every trick in the book.
When they weren't devising plans, Patrick would sing to Charlie. She always told him what an amazing voice he had.
"Damn it Pat, don't cry. You know when you cry, I cry," tears were rolling down each others faces. They were standing outside Charlie's former house. The taxi that would take them to the airport was coming in a couple of minutes. They were spending their last precious moments together, clinging onto each other.
"I...can't help it Charlie."
"I know Pat."
"You have to promise that you'll write to me. And that we'll see each other again. And-"
"And you have to promise me that when I see you again, you'll be famous. You have to do something with that voice of yours. Don't waste it."
"I'm not that good."
"Well I'm not going to write to you. Nice knowing you Patrick," Charlie giggled.
"Shut up. I promise then."
"I promise too Patrick."
"Charlotte! The taxi is here. Come on! Do you want to miss the flight?" Charlie heard her dad shout.
"Yes..." Charlie whispered under her breath. She hugged Patrick tighter and kissed him one more time.
"Never forget me Charlie."
"And never forget me Pat."
Charlie reluctantly let go of Patrick and turned towards the taxi, tears flooding her face.
"Wait! I have something for you," Patrick took a small box out of his pocket and opened it. Inside were two chains, with two haves of a heart. Patrick took out one chain and gave it to her.
"Patrick, it's beautiful."
"Something to remember me by. Let me put it on you," Patrick took the clasp and put the chain around her neck. Charlie gripped on her half of the heart.
"Charlotte, come on!" Her dad was standing by the taxi looking very frustrated, her brother and sister were making loud kissing noises in the back seat to annoy her but Charlie tried to ignore them. Her mother also had tears in her eyes, she didn't like the idea of tearing the two of them apart, but what could she do?
"Thank you Patrick. Oh and thanks for the memories," she said loud enough for him to hear, turning around one more time so she could remember her Patrick. The dorky boy with the glasses too big for his face, sideburns and adorable blue eyes.
Patrick watched her get in the taxi. He watched as the taxi drove off, down the road, far, far away. He wished and wished that he would be able to see his Charlie again as he thought of all their times together.
And he would, but no one would have guessed how it would happen, not him, not Charlie.
Awwwwwwwwwwww. And yes that amount of w's is necessary.
Anyway, hope you liked it. Xx
