Pregnant.

Pregnant?

Pregnant.

There were three total tests in the box and I did every single one of them. All of them said the same thing.

Pregnant.

I walked to my bedroom and laid down on my bed. I pulled my t shirt up and stared down at my belly. My whole life was changing. I was terrified but excited at the same time. Was this the most convenient timing? Absolutely not. But I was a mom now.

What if it was a little girl? I could see all the pink, the glitter, and the bows. But what if it was a little boy? I hoped he looked like his daddy. Whatever it was. I would be happy.

I heard the front door unlock and then open. Braxton was here. I sat up as he walked in the room.

"What in the hell was all of that?" He took his vest off and flung it on my chair.

"Making sure the bitch knew she was in my territory, not hers." I shrugged. My shirt was up and I was still touching my stomach.

"Well why'd you punch me?!" He yelled.

"Because she was sitting on the arm of your chair." I rolled my eyes. "Stop acting like you have no idea why I did it, man up, and apologize."

"What has been going on these past few weeks?"

Suddenly it hit me. This is why my emotions were all over the place. This is why I was so unsure of everything. This was why I started feeling unsure of this lifestyle. The hormones.

"Do you love me?" My voice was soft. "Do you want to be with me?"

"Baby I love you more than anything in the entire world, and I want to spend the rest of my life loving you." He sat down on the edge of the bed and grasped my chin in his hand. "What is going on with you?"

"I'm pregnant."

I watched his emotions change. He blinked. At first he looked worried and confused and then his lips curved up into a smile and he actually looked happy.

"You're pregnant!" He stood up and pulled me to my feet with him. He wrapped his arms around me and spun me around. "We're going to be parents?"

"Yeah." I nodded. Tears rolling down my cheeks. I was so thankful that he was happy. He dropped to his knees and lifted up my shirt. He stared at my stomach and kissed my belly button.

"I can't believe it." He stood back up, held my face in his hands and kissed me. "I'm a dad." His smile widened and he wrapped me up into a hug.

Before we told anyone we set up an appointment at the hospital for tests. I needed to know how far long I was, and if the baby was healthy before spilling the beans.

"I've never seen you this nervous." Braxton held my hand as he drove towards Las Vegas.

"What if something is wrong?"

"Stop overthinking and relax a little." He gave my hand a squeeze as he pulled off the highway and onto the off ramp.

"I can't help it. I was in med school. I had a whole semester of tests about abnormal pregnancies."

"Our little nugget is perfect. Even if it has twenty toes, it will be perfect."

I sighed and relaxed into the seat a little more. He was right. It didn't matter what happened as long as our baby's heart was beating.

"I always dreamed of being a father, but I never knew if I would ever find a woman I wanted to share a life with."

"It's exciting but so scary all at the same time." I unbuckled my seat belt as he put his truck in park.
